“Service fit for a King and Queen!”
Reviewed 7 August 2014

Only small issue was not having a clock in the room but the wake up service was right on time. We are still talking about the impeccable overall service experience by your personnel, from maid and porter experience to the front desk and dining experiences.

My family and I had the opportunity to stay at the Castle for 2 nights and enjoyed every bit of it. The golf was amazing, as was the Falconry tour. The rooms were definitely 5 star, very comfortable, large and clean. The staff was phenomenal. We will be back and for a longer stay next time!

Beautiful place, plenty of great activities; we had a really good time. Sadly, room was not quite up to par for a property of this magnitude. No air conditioning, just a small portable fan. Beds too small. Water not hot in shower.

It was amazing staying in a castle. Lovely grounds and surroundings. That being said, our room was not as amazing. Two double beds, makes for crowded sleeping for three and the rooms are without A/C. Which is not bad, but it just was the strangest thing for me to see plastic oscillating fans in the rooms. It just seemed like you would not have two plastic cheap fans in rooms that range in price from 500-700 dollars a night. Also the room was older, needs an update, carpet was not that great, furniture was not so great either. Food was good and service was great, but the rooms definitely need help!

Dear meldeb3K

Thank you for your feedback, I am glad to read you enjoyed your stay at Dromoland but am obviously disappointed that your bedroom did not meet your expectations.

We do not have bedrooms with three beds so the only alternative would have been to take two rooms rather than a double/double. Due to a very busy hotel maybe this option was not available to you at the time of booking?

Due to the nature of the building we cannot put air-conditioning throughout and have struggled somewhat with the recent uncharacteristic humid weather but we have done our best, placing fans in rooms, to ensure guests are as comfortable as possible.

Your feedback is important to us and I appreciate you bringing these issues to my attention. I hope that we have the pleasure of welcoming you back to visit us again in the future

Sincerely

Our family of six spent our final night of our Irish vacation at this beautiful Castle hotel. From the moment you arrive you realize that this is a special place. All the staff were attentive and happy to be of service. We had three beautiful rooms overlooking the lake. We managed to get in skeet shooting, a hawk walk, rowing on the lake and a guided cart ride around the grounds. We celebrated our son's 29th birthday with an amazing five course meal in the restaurant finishing up with a delicious birthday cake. This is an exceptionally beautiful hotel, but the biggest strength is in the wonderful staff.

An awe-inspiring exterior, a plush, inviting, comfortable interior, perfectly manicured grounds, 5+start restaurant. Elegant, but not stuffy or pretentious. Take the Falconry lessons-a wonderful experience. Afternoon tea delightful. massage was great. Pub was fun, great bartenders, funny, helpful, and a nice lounge singer/balladeer
Everyone was friendly, helpful.
Our itinerary had a staying there 2 nights. After six hours, I called my travel agent, changed our itinerary, and stayed 3 nights.
Not inexpensive, but worth it.
The highlight of a fantastic Irish vacation.

What a wonderful experience! We were at Dromoland for our final three nights in Ireland. The grounds are simply incredible. The décor is fantastic. Our room was large, with plenty of storage for our clothing. Everything was so clean. The bathroom was large with two sinks, a bath and a separate shower. We made sure to take advantage of the amenities at the hotel. Our hawk walk was a highlight, as was afternoon fishing. The restaurant was kind enough to cook up the fish we caught for a late lunch. My husband loved the golf course and found it very challenging. Be sure not to miss the garden, which is enclosed within a fence. I could have spent the entire afternoon there with a book. It is just beautiful. One of my favorite experiences was afternoon tea with my daughter. The staff presented it so well, and the sandwiches and pastries were delicious We wanted to ride bikes (free of charge) and go clay shooting as well, but we simply ran out of time. At Dromoland Castle, you can feel as if you have stepped back in time, and yet you can quickly be to Shannon (about twenty minutes) or to the coastal Cliffs of Moher. One small drawback: because there is no air conditioning, windows are left open at night. Families need to be mindful of noise level so as not to disturb other guests whose windows are also open to catch the breezes. We loved our time at Dromoland Castle!
