I have travelled a lot and tend to be skeptical of glowing reviews, but this one actually lives up to the best reviews. The hotel is just around the corner from the golf course and perched up on a hill to provide a view of the golf course and a bit of the water from the front of the property. Rooms are well appointed and clean, but the most memorable parts of the stay were the food and service.
It appears that this is the premier restaurant in town for the locals as well as visitors and excellent. Make sure you take advantage of this kitchen when you are in Lahinch.
The staff take customer service seriously and proffered advice and maps without our even asking. If we return to the region, we will definitely be staying here again.

Reviews looked good and we booked on the strenght of this. We were not disappointed, the place lived up to the best reviews. The restaurant exceeded our expectations, the whole package was superb, from the waiting staff to the food, everything was spot on. The fish main (halibut) was as good as I have had anywhere and my wife's vegetarian dishes were exceptional. Hats off to Mr. Coffey and all the staff.

It wasn't a busy night when we were there but the ambience was excellent and drinks by the fireplace were very enjoyable.

We would recommend this hotel to anybody who enjoys comfort and excellent food.

We checked out the hotel on the internet and the rates were much better than when we rang the hotel reception. The receptionist advised us to book over the internet.

The only drawback was the hum from a generator near to our room but this was turned off at some stage after we went to bed, so did not disrupt our sleep too much.

We went to the Vaughan Lodge Hotel for a two night break with our three children and my mother. The hotel was excellent, very clean and well appointed with all the little extras you would expect from a top quality hotel. The food and service were really outstanding and the staff looked after us so well and were so friendly, without that intrusiveness you sometimes experience.

The children's menu was proper food, not the usual sausages or chicken nuggets and chips. One of the children had a mini steak and the other spaghetti bolognese and our 14 year old ate from the adult's menu. It was a memorable dining experience for them and they thoroughly enjoyed the food, so much so that they were introduced to the chef in the kitchen! There was a huge range at breakfast and all the hot food was made to order and was delicious.

If you are going anywhere near Lahinch, this is the place to stay.

Room Tip: Ask for a sea view
