“The best of family hotels”
Reviewed 6 June 2013

This is a very special hotel that my wife and I have been using for many years. The Arnold family are always concerned that their guests get the best of attention and service and everything flows from this. The hotel is warm and welcoming with lovely staff who are engaging and always helpful. We were visiting in April on a photography weekend which was excellent with great craic. The food was of high standard and really enjoyable. Arnolds sits in a wonderful location in Dunfanaghy with terrific views out to Sheephaven Bay and across to the dramatic Horn Head. All of this against the backcloth of mountains and the beautiful county of Donegal. We will return to this special place again this year

Room Tip: Ask for sea view and premium room if available

However, a very warm welcome from the staff, a pleasant atmosphere and a decent dinner in the pub, and a good breakfast in the restaurant.
Hotel no doubt family owned for a long time, well kept, rooms clean, however in need of a bit of an upgrade...Can't remember the last time I actually used a real key!

Spent one night in May 2013 with my wife in Arnolds Hotel. Excellent hotel & location. The hotel is located on the sea font, with a beautiful view towards Horn Head. Special mention to the restaurant staff for their lovely personalities and service. The food was unbelievably good. Will definitely be back.

Room Tip: Try and get a room with a sea view.

Just back from Arnold's Hotel in Donegal a 5 day trip with Ulster bus Tours. Everything went like clockwork. The hotel was great and in a lovely situation. Staff couldn't have been nicer and the food was fabulous.

Room Tip: View over the front is nice

This was our two nights in Ireland and our trip started off in an excellent way. Laura greeted us when we arrived, tired and beat-up from the Trans-Atlantic flight and four-hour drive from the Dublin airport. She took us to our room, #5, with a water view and a king-sized bed, which turned out to be two twins pushed together but it was an excellent room. Bottle of wine awaited us on our vanity. The only complaint was the poor water pressure in the shower, but this was a small annoyance in view of how fine everything else was for us. We feel in love with Sheephavens Bay and Horn Head. We enjoyed two nights in the pub and found the entire staff to be helpful and friendly, interested in us having a great time. We did. The meals were delicious, and the entertainment in the pub by the acoustic duo, Dave and Ernin, was fun and at times, even moving. Would recommend Arnolds to anyone traveling to Donegal.

Room Tip: Lovely gardens behind the hotel. Book in advance for the best rooms.

It is often said 'never go back' but this was our second visit to Arnold's inside a few months and our expectations weren't only met, they were exceeded! The warmth of welcome and the consistently high standard of courteous and friendly service means this second stay will merely be a stepping stone to the next visit. We enjoyed a two night break with dinner, bed & breakfast, with sea-view rooms, together with three other family members - one of whom is a much-travelled (and now) American citizen who delighted in the whole ambience of the people and the place. Warmest thanks to all the staff!

Room Tip: Ask for a sea view, it's worth the extra - and ask for a room where the bed position enables sig...

We only stayed one night but will stay longer the next time. There were 8 of us in our group in advance of an upcoming 'big' birthday. From the moment I made the booking I knew we were going to be well looked after. The initial enquiry was dealt with with efficiency and pleasantness and when we arrived it happened to be the same receptionist that checked us in with a great Dunfanaghy 'cead mile failte' - our fellow travellers were impressed.
The welcoming fire in the lobby also added to the experience with a bright open aspect - the hotel was spotless, the beds were very comfortable, the views spectacular, the food excellent.
Arnold's certainly contributed greatly to a weekend to remember.
If you have the time and energy do McSwyns Gun Loop walk - two words - spectacular & bracing!!
We will be back! Thank You all at Arnolds

Room Tip: We were in rooms 3,4,5,6 all were spacious and had great views!
