Arrived in Arnolds Hotel, Dunfanaghy, Co Donegal, room very comfortable, had nice dinner, staff attentative and friendly, stayed two nights, no hesitation in returning for another stay. Overall it was pleasant and the fire in the lobby was delightful just to sit and have a coffee and sandwiches and admire the beautiful view over the bay

The Burn's Night in Arnold's Hotel was very well organised with pipers, poem reading, highland dancing, singing, a band, guitars and flues and fanastic homemade haggis! It was a full house and definately, I would recommend anyone to go to the event next year. It was the first Burn's night in the hotel and given that it was a full house one would need to book early to get a place. The Arnold family put on a very succesful and enjoyable evening with Gerarda Arnold's singing. The value for the evening €25 was fantastic.

I stayed in Arnold's hotel in Dunfanaghy this weekend with my son. We have been visiting the area for many years but although we have eaten in Arnold's, on occasions, we are not frequent visitors. Nevertheless, we were greeted personally by Mr Arnold and the Receptionist was extremely friendly and helpful, telling us about recent developments in the town etc. Our room was very comfortable and we had a lovely relaxed meal in the bar. Arnold's demonstrates the warmth and hospitality of the Irish to the full extent and we would recommend it very highly.

We were greeted by the owner who was delightful. Our bags were taken to the room for us, where we found a good size room, comfortable beds, delightfully decorated and a fabulous view out the window. Our breakfast the next day was delicious. The staff was like family. It was raining when we were ready to leave. We were carrying four bags and needed to wait for the bus going to Dublin. The owner allowed us to sit in his car, safe from the rain while we waited for the bus. Such kindness will be remembered for a long time. Out of all the lovely hotels we stayed in while in Ireland, this was our favorite.

I was invited by some friends to the picturesque costal area of Dunfanaghy in North West Donegal. Our accommodation at Arnold's Hotel was easily found as we came into the town. Overlooking Dunfanaghy Bay, the view from the hotel was simply breathtaking. The hotel reception had a lovely roaring fire which warmed us while we were checking in. The hotel staff were all very welcoming. Our room's decor especially it's bathroom was a little tired BUT well maintained and very clean, I slept very well. Next morning the hotel served us a very welcoming and tasty 'cooked to order' Irish breakfast. I loved Dunfanaghy and I especially enjoyed Arnold's Hotel. I hope to return one day.

The wife and I had the occasion to dine at Arnold's last week with friends. We were not looking for anything special so we were gobsmacked by just how delicious everything turned out to be.

Several of us ordered the Irish Prime Sirloin cooked from medium rare to well done. Everyone was satisfied.

Others had fish and were equally pleased.

The dessert list was very enticing and the wine offerings suitable to all but fussiest of consumers.

We spent a few nights at Arnolds as part of an "Irish experience" touring around. Generally things were fine but our bathroom was rather tacky and in need of some decoration. The bedroom was above the kitchen extractor fans and with the window slightly ajar the noise was annoying. Guests should also be aware that the rooms with a view of the sea front onto a busy road and with the window only slightly open the noise is annoying. The bar was lively, the food was average but the staff were exceptional, especially the bar staff and the young lady at reception.

Room Tip: If you like to sleep with a window open, forget about a sea view and ask for a room at the rear of t...
