“Excellent Bed and Breakfast.”
Reviewed 30 August 2014 via mobile

Wanted a place to relax and explore the beauty of Donegal from and Anseo certainly provides this. Booking is very straightforward and prices were competitive. The accommodation was spotless our room was a really good size with lovely ensuite. We had only a short walk into the town. Horn Head and Fanad lighthouse are a must see if in the area.
However the highlight of our stay was the cooked breakfast provided by Anseo, one of the best I have had anywhere. My partner had the salmon, it was a local product smoked over turf, delicious.
Looking forward to a return visit soon.

We loved this B&B. It is just fabulous. On arrival, Lisa welcomed us in the carpark, then she showed us to our beautiful room which had lovely views, it was very spacious, had tea/coffee making facilities, and a lovely bathroom. The bed was large, very comfortable and the linen smelt so lovely, we slept very well. We had travelled quite a distance, and Lisa made us tea with cheese and crackers, and sweet treats on arrival in the beautiful living room..... it was so nice to be greeted in this way. There was a really helpful and informative booklet with information on the area in our room. However, the best was yet to come. Breakfast..........! what can I say? It was amazing....... homemade, warm scones and fruit cake, brown bread...... fresh fruit, cereals, juices....... there was a full menu for cooked breakfast, it was so impressive. We had smoked salmon and scrambled eggs, amazing...... I highly recommend this B&B, it's also only couple minutes walk to Dunfanaghy which is lovely, and I really hope we will get an opportunity to return. Thank you Lisa.

We stayed on our first visit with relatives in August. Lisa gave us a warm welcome and provided everything that we needed and more!
Tastefully furnished and always clean the rooms are a pleasure to use. Breakfast is informal and sociable as well as delicious with a wide and thoughtful choice.
Lisa knows the area well and gave us useful advice on local points of interest as well as pub/restaurant dining options. The service was flawless and we look forward to a return trip next year.

If you think B&B is beneath you and would rather an impersonal hotel then think again!
I have just spent 2 nights in Anseo and can honestly say that it was a beautiful experience.
The bedrooms are so impressive and spacious with every little detail thought through - fresh flowers, water, toiletries, tissues, coffee making facilities and the most comfortable of beds with wonderful feather pillows and duvet.
On arrival I gladly accepted an offer of coffee and it arrived with cheese and biscuits and home-made chutney - I was already hooked!
The breakfast was the best I have every had - this morning I tested the crisp potato omelette as served by El Bulli, one of the world's leading restaurants. It was awesome! All the breads are home-made by Lisa and the smoked salmon is locally smoked over turf - I am salivating at the thought whilst writing this!!!
Lisa is a wonderful host and nothing is any trouble, she is so accommodating.
The house is ideally placed to walk to the village and sample all the pubs and restaurants where there is a thriving and vibrant feel.
I was on a landscape photography workshop with Alternative Visions and this B&B is perfectly located to travel to all the awesome coastal locations which are a photographers paradise.
I really look forward to a return trip to Anseo - thank you for your hospitality Lisa.

We stayed here for a wedding a few weeks ago- impressed is an understatement! Spotless rooms, INCREDIBLE breakfasts- overall the best B and B we have ever stayed in. We got offered a glass of wine on arrival and Lisa could't have been more accommodating! Excellent, excellent, excellent.

Myself and my partner stayed with Lisa on 4th August. The rooms are absolutely spotless, the breakfast is the best that we have had in Ireland, all freshly made and Lisa is a really lovely host, very friendly and helpful. We will be back! Thank you Lisa.

We had a wonderful stay at the Anseo. The rooms were great. Loads of choice for breakfasts and all of it delicious, especially the freshly baked breads. What I didn't expect was the comfortable living area that we were welcome to use and offers of tea / drinks whenever we looked thirsty. Would definitely go back to the this beautiful bit of Ireland. Not least to try out the stunning golf course that is 5 minutes from the front door overlooking the sandy beach.
