Spent 4 days at the Leenane hotel. On arrival we were not happy with the room but there was one available in the annexe which was very good, but the bed was a bit on the hard side. The food was terrific, 5 courses in the evening with great choice and the bar snacks were excellent. Lovely seafood chowder. Very comfortable lounge, it was huge, with an open fire, very homely. There was also an open fire in the bar. Staff very friendly and helpful. This hotel has stunning views of Killary Fjord. I was very busy during the week which is always a good sign. It is closing in November and re-opening in April. Well worth a visit.

Room Tip: There is no lift in this hotel so if you are not too good on your pins ask for a ground floor room o...

For €35 B&B, this was outstanding value. The hotel is old style, family owned but with good character, friendly and helpful staff and a cosy bar and restaurant. perfect for cycling, hiking or exploring the area. Was able to store my bike overnight, no problem. Try and get a room at the front, overlooking Killary Harbour.

We stayed at this hotel on a Saturday night, 12 October 2013. The room was very nice, modern and clean. The bathroom was full size with a large power shower and bath. There was no noise during the night and the beds were very comfortable. The view from our room was breath-taking!

The breakfast, which was included in the price, was excellent. It was self service, eat as much as you like, from yogurt and fresh fruit, croissants, salmon or full fry-up, or all of them if you wanted!

We had the evening meal, which we were not too impressed with, as the meat lacked flavour; although the vegetables were ok. There was a large range of seafood available for fish lover, however, we didn't try this.

Room Tip: Rooms in the new building appeared nicer than the old ones.

Booked in for a package of 2 nights B&B and 1 evening meal, the staff made you welcome and were very friendly.Great choice for dinner,4 starters,4 mains,4 sweets and tea or coffee and a great choice for breakfast. This hotel is set in a beautiful location, slight downside was that my single room would need a upgrade,a bit tired.

Room Tip: ask for a room with seaview in the newer part of the hotel

Wow, what a fantastic location. At the foothill of some massive mountains overlooking Killary bay. Picturesque scenes that give meaning to the word WOW. Add to that some of the best culinary delights my ageing body has experienced you will find the Leenane hotel an exceptionally memorial place to visit.
The Hotel rooms are very spacious, well furnished and supplied and the ones facing the bay worth every cent. There are new and older rooms - both reflective of their age. The older rooms creek that little bit more and contas older furniture. Opposite is true for the Newer rooms (Obviously).
The staff are as pleasant, friendly and effeciant as any Ive ever come accross. Always helful, obliging, funny with the banter and professional. I dont want to pick out any names as that would be a diservice to the whole team who pulled together and fed about 100 of us at a reunion. Amazing Food, Great pints of Stout, incredible Mussels (with a watery sauce to die for), peaceful, tranquil....truelly wonderful. Go visit and be prepared for wonder and excellence all around

Room Tip: MAke sure your room overlooks the bay

This hotel is set in beautiful surroundings, the scenery is by far its best feature. An old hotel, there is a lovely cosy atmosphere in the bar and reception room with open fire. We had 3 meals in the restaurant - The food was ok, the worst was the black pudding starter, which was not much more than a slice of black pudding. The restaurant itself though is very comfortable with beautiful views. The staff were very friendly and helpful at all times. They offer seaweed baths, which are only €20 and well worth it as a new experience.

We did have an unfortunate episode on our second night, when we had a leak in ceiling. The manager dealt with the whole affair badly - woke our 14 month old baby at 5am and offered nothing by way of compensation, not even a drink at the bar when we ran into him the following night. That was disappointing, but overall this hotel offers very good value for a quiet weekend away.

Stayed here with my gf after an extended stay in the are. Have to say unreal views of the lake and mountains very friendly family run hotel. The food was excellent and there was a great choice of dishes. Also availed of the seaweed baths which at 20 euro each is fantastic value. Overall for 70 euro a night it's well worth a stay will certainly be back.
