“feels a little bit like home”
Reviewed 2 October 2011

during our Ireland trip my daughter and me spend - like last year - 2 nights at the comfortable house of the Eillen & Tom Staunton. It is such a beautiful place close to Howth and they made us feel a little bit like being at home. Great breakfast - try Eillens porridge. 2 very friendly and always helpful people.
Azure is an unconditional recommendation.

We will come back...

My husband and I spent our last 2 nights in Ireland at the Azure, and what a wonderful experience! The B and B is located in a relatively upscale residential neighborhood in Sutton, about midway between the Sutton and Howth DART train stations (great for easy trips into Dublin without the car). Eileen and Tom are 2 of the most gracious hosts we have ever met; the home is just beautiful, and the rooms are wonderfully quiet and relaxing. We were given the "Family Room" on the main floor, and a full Irish breakfast, along with coffee, juice, toast and breads greeted us each morning.

Both Eileen and Tom were quick to offer dining and activity suggestions, but also did not hover over us! Their presence was always in the background, but they were always ready to help. Tom was even extremely apologetic that he had to explain the Dublin surcharge that was not included on our vouchers! We certainly understood (as the vouchers are the same for the enitre island) but he kept apologizing and saying that he was so sorry that he had to bring us this "bit of bad news". The entire charge amounted to about 15 euros and we had no problem paying it!.

When travelling to Dublin, the Azure is the place to stay! We would not hesitate to stay with Eileen and Tom again. It is the epitome of Irish hospitality!!!!!

Room Tip: The Family Room is actually 2 rooms (2 double beds and a twin). We did not see the upstairs rooms.

My mom and I stayed at the Azure during our last two nights in Ireland. We did not want to drive in Dublin and the B&B is very near 2 train stations, just a short ride into the city. Also minutes away from the beautiful Howth Peninsula and lots of great restaurants. The best part was it's proximity to the airport. We had an early flight and the wonderful hosts made us a loaf of fresh brown bread to take because we missed breakfast! We stayed in a large ground floor room that would be perfect for a family of four.

Room Tip: We stayed in the ground floor

We flew in to Dublin and our flight was early, but Eileen was very welcoming and allowed us to check in very early. She then proceeded to answer all of our questions and give us advice to get into the city, this was our first trip to Ireland. Her manner was so friendly and helpful and it was a great introduction to the country. Breakfast was the full Irish, fresh and delicious. Best porridge and tea of our whole 10 day drip.
The room clean and comfortable, and Tom keeps the yard so beautiful, the roses are unbelievable. The location is quiet but with easy access to Dublin by train. We would definitely stay again.

Have been meaning to write this review for some time. Azure is nestled in a quaint neighborhood and is a short drive to the train station in Howth, several restaraunts and bars, as well as my favorite part of Howth, the cliff walk. We really enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere, the polite helpful nature of our hosts, and the breakfasts that were more than delicious. I have stayed in several B & B's and I would rate this as one of the best.

Would highly recommend this place for the experience of staying in a true Irish B&B. Very friendly people, full of information but not in the least pushy, we like that...nice breakfast, be sure to try the porriage, yummy..now use it in the states --when we can find it. Location was great, close to the airport, Newgrange and Dublin, the Dart is a fabulous system - takes you right into the city and back, no hassle. Will return on our next visit to Ireland.

We stayed here our last two nights in Ireland. It is convenient to the DART train in Howth, which takes about 30 minutes into the heart of Dublin, also very close to the airport. There are also some great restaurants in Howth on the pier, we had some excellent seafood! Our room was clean and comfortable. It feels as if you are staying in someone's home moreso than other b&b's that we stayed in.
