“THANK YOU FOR ALL THE PRINTING !!”
Reviewed 10 June 2014

I can't thank reception enough. I have had to send a multitude of document for colleagues staying at the hotel. The staff have reacted promptly, efficiently and have kept me up to date every step of the way. This is definitely the kind of support you need as a business. Things don't always go to plan when administrating and this level of service from The Grand Hotel has proven to be so valuable.

Thanks again :)

I didn't have high hopes for this hotel. It seemed cheap so I suspected it may be grotty. However there is no other hotel in the town of Fermoy, so I had no choice. I had been to the hotel cafe /bar before and knew it was popular.

I was quite surprised to find a spotlessly clean room, and furthermore in the centre of the town. It was plain but still better than the usual generic room down countless corridors in a business hotel on the edge of town.

The view from my bay window was beautiful. It was of the Blackwater river at the weir. I could sit at the table working while watching salmon fishers, heron and swallows.

The facilities could admittedly be better. The TV is small and the food is average. However the location, cleanliness, view and helpful staff make this hotel worth a visit.

We have eaten here many times, it can be very inconsistent, some staff are totally untrained and have never been taught about 'care of duty to customers' but there are 2/3 good staff here. They have a so-called offer of 'buy 2 main courses-pay for 1,- as long as you buy 2 drinks, this is bordering on a scam as chicken, fish etc, is almost €20 which is 30-40% over the going price in most places, so the so-called great offer is a bluff. This is a total hit and miss premises.

We stayed here again for one night, rooms as always 4&7 so we knew what to expect, nice river view, they did change the shower head in no.7 since our last stay so was better experience nothing to complain about. We also ate in the restaurant starters weren't great (chicken wings) but mains were perfectly cooked. most of the staff are very nice, breakfast cooked to order so you know you get fresh.

Room Tip: get a river view if you like to look at something through the windows

We stayed as a family over the Easter weekend as we were going to a wedding nearby. The rooms aren't high end luxury but they are fine. The service was really good, nothing was too much trouble including ordering the cab to the wedding when we were running late. Nice Irish breakfast and excellent food in the evenings. Plus a fine pint of Murphy's.

A group of us recently attended a seminar in Fermoy and stayed overnight in The Grand Hotel. This hotel is in the centre of the town and overlooks the beautiful river Blackwater. Rooms were adequat, lots of seating areas and the staff were helpful and friendly. We were offered a great selection for our breakfast and it turned out to be a really well cooked meal. Many thanks to the staff there.
