Raffaele was so patient even when we were so late getting in. We ate two nights at the Casale. The food prepared by Raffaelle's mother was just wonderful and great value.

Rooms were ample and spotless. We even had a spa bath. Luxury!

Breakfast was more than ample.

Cute town and easy access for train to Rome by car - about 30 min.

GPS can be confusing as it takes u to the town in two different ways from Orvieto

The Casale is 1.4 km past the town on the lhs ascending. i.e going uphill away from the town.

My girlfriend and I stayed 3 days here in September 2012 and had a wonderful time. The building and the room are beautiful and the view is lovely. The staff are all friendly and we truly felt at home. The food we ate in the evening was exceptional and a wonderful introduction to proper Italian cuisine (it was our first visit) and the courses just kept coming and coming. The food and wine were all local and of wonderful quality. Plenty to go and see in the area but you really do need a car to make the most of it.
I cannot recommend this enough.

... if you like to visit the surrounding sites (Orvieto, Todi ...) or even as a base for raids into Rome, or Perugia - if you have a car. Forget the place, if you dont. Oh, the sign is a fancy wooden one, a bit easy to overlook. Try N46.45297, E009.59235, if you cannot find it.

Rooms are simple, but tasteful and consistent in style, so very good from my point of view. Impeccably clean, double glazed and well heated, if you travel in winter. If you stay for more than a day or two, avoid the rooms facing the road. There is little traffic, but if there is a car, it is clearly audible, stone walls and double glazing, or not.

Nice views, cozy atmosphere, friendly yet professional hosts. 6 rooms all up, so it never gets this hotel feeling.

Breakfast a bit bland, but does not matter. Overall a clear thumbs up.

I have never had such a beautiful experience at any hotel. The owner, Raffaelle, was such a warm, welcoming lady, it was like meeting a relative or staying at your mom's place. She was there to help in any way, the food was great, the scenery is beautiful.... best experience I have ever had with hotel staff. You cannot feel more at home anywhere else other than your own home.

I was there with a group of friends for 2 nights , 6- 8 july . Renovated since 2 years , is very cozy with a friendly atmosphere . From the terrace in the garden you have an enchanting view on the valley . Raffaellla is the manager and her mother Annunziatina Knows perfectly the art of cooking .
We tasted traditional dishes , homemade cooking , that is difficoult you can find in other restaurants .
Red and white wine are very good .
Rooms are beautiful and are equipped with tv and wifi , there is no air conditioned but it is not necessary because there is a fresh wind from the valley . About 1 hour by car to Perugia and 30 minutes to Todi , so you can visit easily these beautiful medieval towns but also Montecchio that is about 1 km from the hotel is very cozy .
Finally the prices : the cost of half board is what you would pay for a meal in a restaurant !
At the check out Raffaella gave us for present a bottle of extra virgin olive oil ...what to want more ?
I recommend this stay and I'll be back for sure .

My partner and I stayed for three nights at this farmhouse and thoroughly enjoyed it. We were well looked after and mama's cooking was out of this world. Raffaella and her family made us feel very comfortable and almost as family. We had no transport but thanks to Raffella we were able to get around quite easy. It was way up in the mountains but that was exactly what we wanted, peace and quiet to re-charge our batteries! Beautiful views from the bedroom window over looking Montecchio. Not much going on in Montecchio but there is quite a lot to explore further a field. Great place and such a lovely family! I shall return.
