“Relaxing place”
Reviewed 23 February 2014

Decided to try the reserve after finding it on the internet. The place is clean and well looked after. The main hide you enter is beautifully made, with huge windows overlooking a waterway. Possibilities to watch waterfowl and woodland birds. Excellent for children.

“A perfect little hide away”
Reviewed 18 February 2014

My dad is an avid bird watcher and he constantly talks about his 'gem of a spot'. So today I went with him to see what the fuss was about and I can see why he loves it. Plenty of birds to see from the main hide with beautiful views out towards the Fflint bridge and beyond. The walk to the second hide was serene with little 'hedgehog campsites' and 'ladybird mansions' adding a humorous and wildlife friendly twist to the walk. The staff in the hide are extremely knowledgable and welcoming. The fair trade teas, coffees and light snack was welcome to fend of the chill from the wind! I didn't notice any binoculars in the 2nd hide for use but there were some provided in the main one. Once the main hide is locked up for the evening there is still access through a side gate so no time pressures to interrupt the bird watching! Picnic benches suggest when it's warmer it could be a very enticing spot!

“The makings of a fabulous reserve”
Reviewed 30 December 2013

In the most beautiful part of the Wirral, the RSPB have recently opened this new reserve. It is adjacent to a very well kept secret, Inner Marsh Farm, which the RPSB have run very quietly for a long time , for members only.
Now it is time to invite everyone to see this lovely area, with plans for the new reserve to be joined to Inner Marsh Farm by footpath. We have visited in summer and seen Purple Hairstreak butterflies on the tops of the Oak trees, and at other times of the year to see the many varieties of birds that live here. There is woodland, marsh and pools, so quite a diverse cross section of creatures to spot.
The visitors centre has a couch and drinks machine, with snacks available, and there are a couple of hides open, and paths to explore. There are toilets and a free car park too. We always get a warm welcome from the staff, who will tell you whats about and where everything is.
We look forward to visiting again.

“Hidden jewel”
Reviewed 15 December 2013

had not been before so decided to follow the signs. The road? was a narrow one way track but don't let that put you off! Plenty of parking spaces. We were welcomed by a ranger and the area was explained. we went into the building and were surprised to note how comfortable it was wit panoramic views of the wetlands and binoculars for the use of visitors to see the bird population.
Well worth a visit.
