Good value for money. Easy to find: well signposted. Masses of space to walk, interesting garden and great views. Weather was wonderful: summer weather in October. That always helps. As others have reported, there was a lot of weed in some flower beds, but it did not really spoil our enjoyment. Many plants and trees were well labelled; I wish that National Trust gardens had as many labels, but NT gardens are not as weedy as Ness was :-). Of course, it is end of season and weeds become more obvious when beds are being cleared. Freshly picked produce for sale with an honesty box. Sat on the terrace outside the cafe for tea. Friendly, efficient service. Not a lot for sale in the plant shop.

The gardens are exceptional, but don't let the CAFE let it down.We went to the cafe after visiting the gardens which were wonderful.
The staff especially one particular waitress was obnoxious I was stunned at her attitude.
I accidently knocked a jug of cream over which went over my husbands wallet on the table. I ran towards the waitress for help and she threw a crumpled up blue roll at me,and then watched from affar whilst we struggled to clear it up.The cafe was empty at this time, but no attempt was made from 5 people in the kitchen who were stood around laughing and joking probable at us to help us.I did speak to a manager of the Cafe later who did apologise but had no control over her staff.

A lovely place to view the Dee estuary, take a serious stoll, admire the plants or play with the grand children.
