This was a surprise birthday treat for my wife. Natalie was in on the secret right from the start. On our arrival Natalie met us and gave us a tour of the accommodation. It was everything one could ask for. Nothing is left to the imagination. Cake was left for my wife plus a “chilled” bottle of wine and some chocolates. Other welcome treats were marmalade, jam, bread, butter, milk, and cereal. Bottles of water left on each side of the bed, shampoos, and other toiletries all complimentary.
As for the accommodation, TV’s top floor and kitchen area. In the pod (very top) there is a small wine fridge and glasses on top. Nice large air con device in the pod. Glass doors lead out onto the balcony with a wonderful view of the surrounding countryside. Telescope also provided. Once Natalie had showed us around she then left us to enjoy the two days/nights we were there Local pub closed on a Monday. Plenty of others a short drive away. This was truly an amazing experience one which we will not forget. Hope to visit again very soon. Thank you Natalie and Steve, from The Windmills
I booked this as a surprise for my girlfriend's 40th birthday, her face was priceless when she saw the top 'pod' as she drove down the road and I told her this was where we were going. It is a truly special place, immaculate inside and out. Cannot fault it at all - attention to detail during construction is incredible and continues with the little touches for each guest like the robes, toiletries, cake, wine, chocolates, milk, bread etc. The bed was superbly comfortable and the shower big enough for two, hot and powerful. The bath was huge, a real treat for bath lovers. The kitchen had everything you could need for a few days away - loved the touch of the wine fridge with glasses at the top, brilliant idea and saved the legs a few stairs (but probably encouraged us to have that second and third bottle! Oops). The view from the top is wonderful and sitting on the balcony was a spot on way to spend an afternoon and evening. Nearby Lavenham is worth a trip and a stroll about. Thank you for our stay. My girlfriend is ready to come back and we have only been home a couple of hours. I think I will struggle to top this surprise birthday weekend, we will definitely be back. Honeymoon next year most likely.
We had an amazing 2 night stay at The Windmill to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The Windmill is to the highest standard, everything has been thought of, we could to fault it. Natalie is a fantastic host and made our stay extra special. We will hopefully return as it is the perfect place to relax and unwind in sumptuous surroundings.
Wow, what a fabulous place to stay. Booked this for our wedding Anniversary as I wanted to stay somewhere different.Every possible thing has been thought of for the staying guest, even down to surround sound music. Nothing is too much trouble from the host and is only a phone call away if needed. A handy guide of local area's and pub's etc is on hand. We paid extra for the package which included a selection of food and drink's,which i would recommend save's having to take anything. Followed by a morning at a local spa for a lovely full body massage, very relaxing.
Nice and handy for Bury st Edmunds which has good place's to visit.
I would highly recommend staying here for a lovely break.
I booked the windmill as a joint birthday stay for my husband and I. We wanted something unusual and special in the Suffolk countryside.
The windmill was perfect, we loved the originality of the windmill building which is so beautifully designed and thought out. The personal welcome and local produce were lovely touches and helped us settle in nicely!
There were amazing views from the pod and we had fun star gazing with the telescope. The luxury set up of all of the rooms and decor made it a wonderful stay for relaxing.
Location of the windmill is great with lovely local walks and closeness to Lavenham and surrounding areas.
We would love to come back in the winter to experience in another season!
So glad we found this place and booked the stay! Don’t hesitate in booking a few nights away! It’s really worth it!!
We obtained a late booking due to a cancellation for 2 nights in June and we struck gold. The Windmill exceeded all expectations and we had an excellent stay. The view from the Pod is magnificent and we spent one evening just sitting outside with a chilled glass(es) of wine watching the farmer bale his field and enjoying the wildlife.
We had a VERY minor issue during our stay but Natalie quickly resolved the situation, leaving us a bowl of fresh strawberries for the inconvenience - very much appreciated.
The location is excellent with a pub just a short walk away (excellent food), and Lavenham being a short drive away which is a picturesque Suffolk village.
If you think about staying, then don't delay and book straight away. You won't be disappointed.
