“Beautiful coastal campsite”
Reviewed 28 May 2014

We spent one night in this campsite in our campervan. We were given a nice secluded spot facing the bay, within easy walking distance to the local village, and just a short drive to the Moeraki Boulders. Wi-fi is available, though unfortunately for us that evening, we could not pick up any signal with our devices, and by the time we'd discovered that, the office was already closed for the night. The next morning, the lady in charge happily gave us a full refund of the wi-fi charge. Service was excellent, and the amenities were well kept and clean. All in all, good value, and definitely recommended.

A friend and I called in here on the off chance they would have accommodation available for the night. We were really impressed and happy with the sweet cabin we were given - lovely views of the harbour, so clean and warm and comfortable. Great hosts and entertaining! I especially enjoyed finding a hot water bottle to warm my bed, a true blast from my childhood. So nice was this place that we returned 3 days later for another night and the opportunity to walk the beach to the boulders.

If you're after 5 star accommodation, this isn't for you.

But if you want a beautiful quiet secluded campground, with cabins overlooking an idyllic harbour - this is exactly the place. After racing around the States on business for 6 weeks, my wife and I needed to unwind, perfect.

The cabins are pretty basic, but the beds are comfy, heaters work well, and the views are stunning.

We had 3 nights here and it was perfect; easy walk to the village and Fleurs Place, and a good walk up to the Boulders.

Friendly staff, good clean facilities, we'd stayed here before 15 yrs ago, we won't take that long before returning.

We were fortunate enough to score a cabin for our extended adult family late afternoon in this picturesque area. The cabin was perfect for our one night stay and would have been fine for several days. Not a lot of room for moving around in the cabin but the camp had a convenient and clean kitchen not far away. Everything was clean and tidy. I like that they have a collection of cooking utensils for use. However we enjoyed a lovely meal at the tavern a couple of minutes walk away. There is a lovely walk nearby around the harbour as well. I was impressed with the response from our enquiry to visit the penguin colony. Not only were they able to point us in the right direction, they had a map ready to highlight the route as well. Very friendly people. PS the penguins were so cool, I'm glad I had my big camera lens.

This was a lucky find for us towards the end of our holiday. Extremely friendly and knowledgeable hosts, beautifully clean facilities, reasonably priced and very peaceful surroundings with great views across the bay. Nice easy walk to the tavern or the renowned Fleurs cafe, both offering a great choice of menus to suit any budget. Handy to the Moeraki Boulders, The Lighthouse where the yellow eyed penguins live and numerous other walks and interesting things to see and do, including fishing charters etc.

We required a powered caravan site this time around and will definately return to camp but may also consider a weekend in one of the cabins or motel units in the winter. Just a fabulous place to unwind!

We just returned from our 3rd visit to the Moeraki Holiday Park. We stayed in a self catering 2 bedroom unit with balcony facing the ocean. This is a stunning location and the well-equipped kitchen and comfy furnishings make it a delightful get-away.
There are some marvelous walks close by (The Millenium Way to the Moeraki Boulders ) also a short drive to the lighthouse where sea lions and penguins can be viewed at dusk.
Your trip will not be complete without trying out Fleur's Place - a great world-class fish restaurant about 15 minutes walk away

Room Tip: There are additional facilities for those who like to camp plus a trampoline and gym bars for workin...
