Great house with marvellous ocean view and all amenities, including snorkel gear and boogie boards. The manager Daniel was very friendly and gave a great deal of useful advice. The location was very good, within an hour to an hour and a half drive from most activities, including black sand beach, snorkelling with sea turtles, swimming with manta rays, volcano national park and a wonderful white sand beach at Kua Bay. Be prepared for a 15 minute drive along steep winding road that descends to the community in which house is located. Highly recommended!
This home has something for everyone, from snorkels, to kayaks, boogie boards, and even a full set of dvd's and other entertainment to wind down after a long day out in the sun. If you're concerned with the lack of AC there's nothing better than opening up the sliding doors and letting the cool ocean breeze in. The view from the deck is beautiful, it's the perfect spot to enjoy your morning coffee or a nice homemade breakfast. Daniel was very helpful with planning out our days and the House Manual (the yellow folder) also has great suggestions for more places to explore.
All in all this house provides you with everything you need to enjoy your days on the Big Island. The rough winding road down may be tricky but definitely worth the drive overlooking a picturesque community atop majestic lava rocks. This home is definitely a rare find and the atmosphere is something everyone should seize the opportunity to experience. We loved our stay and only wish we had a few days more to enjoy it!!
My friends and I were visiting for a wedding and wanted to explore the Island with the rest of our stay. In the mornings, we would wake up to the sound of the near by ocean. Then we would make breakfast, coffee, and spend the first part of the mornings outside on the patio just admiring the view. During our stay we were so thankful for all the amenities the house had to offer. We took the kayaks and the snorkeling gear to the near by beach and had a blast. If you are looking to have some fun adventure or even peace and quiet look no further this is the spot. Also, both Cheryl and Daniel are the most awesome, kind, and down to earth people. They were very easy to communicate with which made me feel at ease about my stay. Cant wait to hopefully have the chance to visit again.
Such a wonderful experience that we can live in the house with beautiful view. It is quite with good view. And the people are really warm hearted and shared us a lot of suggestion. Highly recommended.
Well once again this house did not disappoint! This is our 2nd time staying here and we are already beginning to start planning our 3rd trip. Beautiful doesn't even begin to describe this place. The views of the ocean are amazing. The sunsets and sunrises are the most beautiful I've ever seen. The house is kept very clean and has a fantastic lanai. We brought our kids this time and they loved the new addition of the bunk beds! We loved that we had snorkeling gear, boogie boards, coolers, and chairs available to take with us to the beach. We even added an umbrella to the collection to help complete the perfect beach day! Can't wait to stay again!
Cheryl's home south of Captain Cook is beautifully decorated and well supplied with everything you could need for an enjoyable stay on the Big Island. She certainly has thought of everything. We settled in to 'home' right away and a couple of ladies in our group chose to stay there and just relax it was so comfortable. It was great to wake up to the sound of the ocean and the lovely birds over in Daniel's yard next door. We Manta ray snorkeled with Hang Loose, day snorkeled and snuba with Fair Wind on the Hula Kai, ziplined and gardens at Botanical World Adventures and enjoyed the Seahorse Farm. All of these companies provided great experiences. Then our home away from home was the perfect place to relax after our adventures. Thank you Cheryl for sharing your beautiful home.
This is a great place to experience Hawaii for the first time. As a flat-lander the location was fantastic with scenic views of the Pacific. There is so much to do south of the house, from black sand beach, green sand beech the southern most point in US and Volcano National Park(VNP). The park is up there with the Grand Caynon for me. Cheryl is a great hostess and helped me with the many questions I had before the trip. When you get to the house Daniel is there to help you in any way. Cheryl and Daniel both recommended the night time Manta Ray dive(sorkel) with Hang Loose. The dive with the rays is an experience I would never forget.
