Four Winds Villas

We were wonderfully surprised about everything to do with the Four Winds. Location to the beaches and hinterland with all the activities each have to offer was perfect. Although we went with the kids, who loved it, it would be the ideal romantic getaway as well. Clean, welcoming hosts, relaxed environment with views that go forever made this everything we were looking for to get away and enjoy the area. Especially enjoyed watching the sun rise from the wrap around deck,

Room Tip: The northern most room got a bit of wind, which we liked, and was well removed from any activiety

What a wonderful place! I would highly recommend these villas. I couldn't fault this place. It was perfect from check in, the owner/manager Rick was just wonderful. The villas are clean, comfortable and luxurious. It's hard to believe you're not in some tropical paradise in Asia. There are so many amazing antiques surrounding the entire property. The view is to die for. Don't stay in the hustle and bustle of Byron, this is a perfect alternative and still only a short drive to town if you wish to do so but really once here, you won't want to leave. A huge villa, a beautiful view and a nice pool area. Stock up on some food before you get there as you won't want to leave. We will be back as soon asks possible but will be staying more than the three days next time. The perfect place to switch off and recharge the batteries. So tranquil. Loved it!!

With relatively little research we chose this destination for the five nights following our marriage. Thank heavens we did. It was simply an outstanding place to stay. We were in the one bedroom villa, and as the only guests on the property literally had the entire place to ourselves. As other reviewers have outlined, the decor, siting, grounds, size and standard of facilities here are absolutely first rate. We simply could not believe how lucky we were to find ourselves here. One warning: the roads around Byron are in shocking conditions and with torrential rain most nights we were there, we didn't feel great venturing out for even the short distances to local towns such as Bryon Bay or Bangalow (although we had a fabulous meal at the Bangalow Hotel one night). So, we purchased magnificent local produce and cooked in: the BBQ was great, there is a double hotplate and large electric frypan - everything you need.
This was simply the most romantic, magnificent, wonderful place: book now!!!

Room Tip: For a couple, definitely select the One Bedroom Villa. We didn't think the other villa looked ne...

High on the Coastal Range. It is very pretty and it is an escape. Other reviewers have said it all.

Pluses. Pool Day bed is quite unique and serendipitous -unique, general quietness. The Asian Bali thai style is to your taste or.... not.

Negatives - noisy pool filter kind of ruins solitude as does the pool gates that clang as people come and go. The kitchen is pretty average in that there is no oven or gas cooker.

Would we go back. Maybe, but only if there were no kids about.

Room Tip: The One Bedroom is right next to the pool. Avoid if there are kids about. The bedroom is right next...

We booked this at the last minute while we were travelling around Australia and Asia , it is quite hard to find unless you have a GPS in your car but we got there and boy was it worth it , We stayed in the one bedroomed villa which was just beautiful , very big and filled with lovely furniture and objects inspired by Thailand and asia . The view from our villa was stunning and you could see right down the valley to the sea . We were the only guests for the two night we were there so we had the gorgeous pool area all to ourselves .
We also chose to cook ourselves the two nights we were there as we had been travelling around and just wanted total relaxation so we used the BBQ area one night and although the kitchen doesn't have a hob the electric pan did the job perfectly. The owners Helen and Rick had filled the fridge with basics and a lovely bottle of bubbly wine .
The patio area was perfect to sit on with a nice chilled glass of wine and a perfect view .
We loved this place and could quite happily stay there for ever just chilling out and looking at the view .
The villa itself is very comfortable with a huge bed , living area and bathroom. There were plenty of magazines to read a CD /ipod docking station and many other things to make it feel like you were home .
A big thanks to Helen for all her advice on our impending visit to Thailand we had a wonderful time there too

Room Tip: the rooms are all good

I had the pleasure of staying in the 2 bedroom Villa at Four Winds last weekend. Most of the accommodation in Byron was booked out however fortunately there was a last minute cancellation.

I have stayed in many premium establishments in my time but I would have to say that Four Winds is by far the most spectacular. The ridge top location and views of the valley below to the ocean and the surrounding mountains are simply breathtaking. The rural view from the loft bedroom was a delight to wake to each morning. It is just so peaceful and apart from meeting the owner Rick on check-in who is a really top bloke as well, I saw nobody for the rest of the weekend.

The Villa was immaculate and so well equipped, even down to a fully stocked cupboard of condiments. The kitchen made self catering easy, with heaps of cookware, crockery and utensils, and the BBQ was great. My only quibble would be that there is no oven in the kitchen, perhaps a Convection Microwave would make cooking at home a little easier?

The pool is amongst the best I have swam in, and perfect for an evening dip beneath the stars.

I look forward to returning to Four Winds soon and would recommend this amazing, beautiful property to all.

We stayed 4 nights. Great couple who own the two villas, private, wonderful Thai/Cambodian antiques everywhere, pool amazing, great view; wonderful to chill out, put your feet up and enjoy the view. Private open air shower was awesome!
