“A peaceful retreat in the country”

I totaly agree with "HelenHenderson", this place HAS character... no ikea furniture in there for sure. We originally wanted to stay at the Goodwood Park Hotel but after reading the reviews and experiencing rude staff over the phone when booking, I changed my mind at the last minute (the day before) and booked 2 rooms at Landseer House.

The House itself is gorgeous (see photos).

This place is a gem... I was surprised not to find many reviews on here. The owner emailed us directions and it was easy to find, at the end of a quiet and peaceful lane. The house is 7 minutes drive from the beach and Chichester.
Landseer house is a perfect base for Mithrill race course and Goodwood (I had booked a driving experience for my husband)

The rooms are comfortable and the house is beautifully furnished, decorated and tasteful piece of art scattered around the house. My in-laws and I loved it. One of the room is very spacious and I would definitely recommend booking it if it is available. The other room was a bit on the small side but beautifully appointed (TV was a bit small too just behind the door but this just a small complaint as there is plenty to do in the area). We were asked the night before what we wanted for breakfast (which is understandable for a small place to organise themselves and avoid wastage). They sourced local mushroom to cater my vegetarian needs (small complaint is that breakfast is served too early but I think this can be arranged if you speak to the host). The cooked breakfast was delicious.

The host was welcoming and allowed us to use the garden for a picnic.

They have two small self-contained cottages as well opposite the main house and these are good value to rent for the week. I definitely recommend Landseer house.

Hope you'll have a nice stay if you decide to stay there (chances are, you will)

On another note: there is this beautiful shop in Chichester called through the looking glass. If you like house decorating this is the place for you. They have a great selection of furniture and deco stuff for your house.

We stayed for 3 days in this lovely property's self catering cottage. All we needed and more with local pubs and walks a few minutes away and the beach 10 minutes.
Very friendly owners that supply on demand everything you need to have a delightful time.

How wonderful to find somewhere that is not yet another bland makeover of brown leather settees and bare wooden floors claiming to be a "boutique hotel"!
A pretty house from the minute you walk in, beautifully furnished with antiques and lovely paintings, yet still having a very welcoming atmosphere.
We stayed in their enormous deluxe room which was beautiful. Fantastic views, we could see the Isle of Wight in the morning sun. Pristine ensuite with vast bath and separate big power shower. Lovely fluffy towels and bath robes.
Breakfast was delicious and served in a lovely garden room with wonderful views.
The owners were charming, nothing was too much trouble and they recommended several very good places to eat, one within walking distances.
Can't wait to go again.

This B&B was a brilliant find, hidden away approximately 4 miles from Chichester. It is situated on a quiet lane in the rural countryside. Ten minutes from a local beach. Fifteen minutes from Chichester. The owners are very friendly and accommodating.

We stayed in one of the self catering studios. Which had every facility that we needed and were furbished to a very high standard.

The owners have two friendly dogs and our dog was made welcome.

The breakfasts are wonderful, with fresh local produce. I would reccommend this accommodation to anyone who wants a quiet location with high standards.

There are lots of good local restaurants. The Crab and Lobster Restaurant and the Cider House were fantastic.
