After a long walk nearby it was lovely to come into such a nice room and super bathroom before heading off to the theatre in Chichester.Excellent location for both! Great breakfast next morning too. Only disappointed we hadn't booked for two nights instead of one. Would definitely choose to come back. Very welcoming hosts too. Highly recommend coming here!

Booked Lockgate Dairy for 1 night only as were visiting a local Blues Festival but we really wish it could have been for longer. The room we had was beautifully furnished and the standard of everything is very high. From the superb bed right down to the tea bags, all was top quality, including big fluffy white towels (White Company), superb bed linen, gorgeous toiletries and beautiful Sophie Conran table wear. Martin and Helen were very welcoming and were kind enough to let us check in early so we could get off to the festival. We enjoyed a delicious freshly cooked breakfast which again consisted of top quality ingredients. The property is very quiet and off the beaten track but with easy access to Chichester or the coast. The gardens are very nice indeed and look particularly lovely at this time of year with lots of roses in bloom. We will definitely go back when we are in the area again.

We stayed in the master suite in the main part of the house. Our hosts Martin and Helen were very accommodating and helpful; even to the extent of recommending and then booking a local pub for us to eat at. They made us feel right at home. However, the best was reserved for the breakfasts which were 5 star. The room was nicely done and the master bathroom fitted with a proper shower. We saw the barn conversions which looked to a very high standard. You need to drive to local pubs or into Chichester to eat in the evening. Recommended.

I stayed at Lockgate Dairy in March 2013 and was very impressed. The location is in a beautiful quiet area, not too far from Chichester and the property itself is very charming with beautiful grounds and gardens. Inside, the accommodation is first class. All the rooms I saw were tastefully decorated with high-quality fixtures and fittings. The bedding, towels, robes etc. were all top-quality. Breakfast was served in a lovely room with views into the beautiful gardens and breakfast itself was both generous and excellent. I stayed here on business but I would be equally happy to return with my family and use Lockgate Dairy as a base for walking, exploring Chichester and the beautiful coastline and countryside around this area. I have saved the best until last, which is the very accommodating hosts, Martin and Helen. They could not do more to help me settle in and were very knowledgeable and informative about the local area. Definitely well worth the five star rating I and other travellers have given it.

Room Tip: Although I didn't see them all, I suspect all the rooms will be excellent. I believe there are different rooms depending on your needs and I would let the hosts choose the most appropriate room for your needs.

We stayed at the Lockgate Dairy over New Years. We rented both cottages for a family reunion. It was perfect! The new owners were very friendly and helpful and we even had a decorated Christmas tree in each cottage!

Room Tip: The Dairy Cottage was great for kids (both bedrooms on ground floor), the Wren Barn was great for the reunion (the 2nd bedroom is a loft with spiral staircase, but the living room is huge)
