We ate here three times whilst staying in Slapton. Honest home-cooked pub food with firendly atmosphere and great beer. The fish dishes and pies were particularly good. Staff extremely friendly and welcomimg. Dog firendly - child friendly - everyone friendly with very reasonable prices. Can't wait to return - thanks for the hospitality.

Slapton is a very pretty little village on the South Devon Coast. We were looking for a little light lunch so popping into this pretty pub we decided upon the sandwiches. My friend opted for the ham sandwich and after a few words with the chef who was standing in the bar I went for the hot sausage sandwich. He assured me the sausage was from a local butcher and was large. As can be seen what arrived the sausage on the smaller that average size sliced in half. So for the £6.50 the meal was two sausages sliced in half with a bit of salad and a few crisps! In a cafe this would be about £3.50. The staff were very friendly so perhaps we will be back one day.

Negotiating your way through the narrow streets of Slapton is small price to pay once you get to the Queen's Arms. With all it's olde worlde charm and cosy ambiance it's a traditional pub of the best sort. Staff were all lovely, very welcoming and friendly and the local people were also very welcoming - everyone we spoke to had a chat with us. The beer is well kept and very good. But the best bit is the food. Freshly cooked (not a microwave ping to be heard!). Great value, great service, nothing too much trouble. If you are in the area make the effort to pay a visit - it's well worth it!
