This lovely cottage on an estate north of Inverness was perfection. Scotland was having hot (for them), sunny weather the first week in July. So, we spent every evening on the patio enjoying the views of the pond.
On the first floor is a large bedroom (with an ensuite shower) and a fully stocked kitchen - including a washer/dryer. Up a fairly steep winding staircase was a living room and another large bedroom with an ensuite bathroom (shower and tub). Due to the lovely weather, we spent our time outside on the patio, but the living room would be a comfortable area during weather that is not as beautiful as ours.
Communications with the owners was easy and efficient.
Since the cottage is pretty far from any restaurants, we cooked dinner every evening. The closest large grocery store we found was a Tesco in Inverness. However, there is a co-op and lovely butcher shop a couple of miles away in Avoch. We wish we had found the butcher shop earlier. Those were our best meals!
