We booked to stay in the cottage and were very pleased on arrival - it was lovely, spacious and well presented. Unfortunately almost straight away our daughter was taken ill and ended up first in the local hospital and then moved to Aberystwyth hospital over an hour away so our three night break didn't go as planned. The owner however was very helpful in assisting us when we needed an ambulance, and did as much as she possibly could to help, which we would like to say thank you for. We would love to go back again in the future as what we saw of the surrounding areas looked lovely and we would like to explore further!

We took our three children (aged 8, 7 and 6) pony trekking here for the first time. We booked a time slot (4 to 5pm) just less than a week before we arrived.

The first thing that hits you is that this is clearly a well run, professional centre. After running through the paperwork we noted that they took time to carefully select the right helmet for our children and then led us as a group to see the horses. We were surprised at just how many they have and also how many helpers they have on hand.

They selected the horses carefully to suit the riders size, age and ability. Our youngest once in the saddle got a bit upset as he had not done this before. The assisstant was very thoughtful and suggested a walk around the building to check all was well to proceed on the trek. This did the job and our son relaxed, gain confidence and was happy to go on the trek.

The trek (for beginners, although they offer treks for all abilities) was done on their farm near the estuary and we were most impressed with how it was run. The helpers made sure children were happy and safe at all times and as parents we were allowed to walk alongside to enjoy the experience with them.

Overall this is an excellent venue to undertake this activity and we would thoroughly recommend it to other families. Thank you to all at Bwlchgwyn Farm for making our visit such fun for the children.

Room Tip: Not relelant to us as we only did the pony trekking.

Our group consisted of 5 couples, having just finished University we wanted to spend a weekend camping. The owners where a bit wary of us being a group, we promised that we would behave respectfully and a good time was had by all. The pictures really do not do the campsite justice, the view is spectacular- looking out over the sea and the surrounding mountains. We had a large area to ourselves where we were able to sit around the BBQ and watch the sunset. We will all definitely be going back to Bwlchgwyn Farm.

What could have been a disaster of an annual group of friends and their families weekend camping trip turned into a amazing and unforgetable trip thanks to those at Bwlchgwyn Farm. Typically we had chosen one of the worst weekends to go camping, but the family were able to accomodate us all for the weekend and even let us dry our wet tent (as putting it up had to be abandoned) in the barn. The cottages are fantastic with everything you would need for a holiday on the west coast of Wales. The site is in a fantastic area with Harlech, Coed Y Brenin (Cycling, Walking and Go Ape), Fairbourne, Barmouth all a short drive and/or train ride away and then you have the horse riding offered by the farm.. couldn't ask for more.

We had a wonderful relaxing Christmas Break in the well equiped well furnished cottage. It was home from home accommodation even had a dishwasher and the nicest touch was the Christmas tree decorated and lite to greet us when we arrived. The beds were really comfortable the heating was really adequate and we were really warm the whole of our stay. I would use this accommodation again and definitely would like to try in the summer months *****

Having first come to Bwlchgwyn camping with my family, we were takenn by the breath- taking views of the sea and mountains. Bwlchgwyn Farm campsite soon became our favourite place to be, our favorite spot is the 'very top' after a BBQ me and my wife enjoy a glass of wine watching the sunset- fabulous.
As a suprise for my wifes 40th I booked the newly converted barn, we packed the tent and arrived in the rain. After sitting at 'the very top' for 10 minutes waiting for the rain to die-down I took her to our cottage where Mrs Evans had kindly left flowers and a bottle of wine for Helen's birthday. It was just wonderful. The cottage was very clean spacious yet homely. Although I love camping after climbing Cader Indris is was nice to have a hot shower and get into a nice comfy bed!
My daughter loves the Pony Trecking, she has riden Smarty for the last 4 years and was upset when she was told this year she was a bit big for him. After a bit of persuasion she rode another pony, Hamish. Not only did she come of the lead-rein she went on the hour estuary trek with him 6 times out of our 7 day stay!! We are camping again at the end of the month and she can not stop talking about Hamish and how when she is older she is going to 'work' with the horses.
Would i recommend this site......YES! Having introducd a few of our friends to this site they too love it as much as we do.
