“Picture perfect family day out”
Reviewed 25 August 2014

We included Michelham Priory on a day out on our bikes. It is a short ride from Berwick station but there are options for taking a scenic route through pretty villages and along quiet lanes. We hadn't done much research on the place itself and were amazed at how beautiful and tranquil the setting was. It was a sunny August weekend but it didn't feel crowded and we loved the gardens and the house. Our toddler really appreciated all of the thoughtful activities that had been provided for children and the ducks were the friendliest we have ever met. Can't recommend this place enough.

“Try the cafe!”
Reviewed 24 August 2014

Just wanted to add to previous reviews. Yes, it's tranquil and peaceful but added to that, the cafe is very good value and the food is wonderful. Real home made scones and only £5.95 for a full cream tea. Worth going even if just for lunch in the garden!

“Great afternoon”
Reviewed 23 August 2014 via mobile

My family had a great afternoon out at michelham priory ww2 day. All of the staff were friendly and knowledgeable and my children thoroughly enjoyed the hands on activities and displays, my son couldn't keep away from all the vehicles and artifacts and all of the volunteer's were friendly and allowed the children to handle all of the ammo, clothing etc . The trail was good fun and they spent a long time in the tower using the colouring, tile rubbing and building the blocks etc. Grandparents enjoyed the singer in the barn and viv the spiv was very funny and entertaining . All of this was included in the normal admission price so it really was a bonus. Whole family enjoyed the lovely cakes in the café and I think the staff and volunteers at michelham really did put on a great day out. Will certainly be recommending this day out

“a relaxing place to visit”
Reviewed 22 August 2014

Over the years we have visited the priory on a number of occasions. This time we went to the Second World War history day - re enactors, some military vehicles and displays. Really good day out. Alison and her team have put on another really good event. A visit is worth it on many levels, the re-enactors who are often here, special events, education, the grounds with the lawns, trees and lakes, the old working mill - makes excellent flour if you like baking bread and of course the priory which is totally unspoiled.
