We stayed at Eliot Arms for four nights. We found the pub extremely friendly and we had breakfast every morning and whatever we wanted, it was just to ask for it. The food was so delicious, that my wife was eager to go to breakfast every day --- most unusual ! Although we were in the village to see my son and his family, who have just moved there, we found plenty of interesting places to see and think if your stay was for a week or more you would never tire of the area. The evening we stayed for dinner was a little disruptive, as a band was due to play at 9.00pm. everyone was good humoured about the inconvenience and the staff coped admirably. We will be staying again when we visit the area, a treat not to be missed.

Booked a short weekend break in Cornwall for my husbands birthday. Hadn't explored east Cornwall before and this was the perfect place to stay. We were booked into a lovely big family room, comfy bed, TV, plenty of tea/coffee making essentials with biscuits and plenty of hot water for showering. Full English breakfast, served in the dining room, was more than enough. We had a lunch and evening meal during our stay which we're well cooked, with good variety and served by friendly helpful staff. Landlord and lady were very helpful and informative, and made us both very welcome. I would recommend The Eliot Arms as a good place to eat, drink and use as a base for a short break to explore south east Cornwall, it is 8 miles, give or take a mile or two, to Looe, Liskerd, Plymouth and Saltash, and just a short walk to the small quay and amazing viaduct which traverses the river/tidal estuary. Now we have found this gem, will will most definitely be returning to continue our exploration of this lovely and most beautiful part of Cornwall.

Stayed for 2 nights at this lovely pub last week. The room we stayed in was spotlessly clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. The breakfast was first class with plenty of variety, fresh juices cereals, full English yum yum, and as much as you wanted. We had evening meals both nights and we were not disappointed. I had the steak Sizzler on the first night and my hubby had the Gammon, both beautiful. The following evening I had the home made chicken korma and as someone who is gluten intolerant I was assured all was gluten free which was great. All in all I would highly recommend this wonderful village pub and will definitely return. When talking to some of the locals we discovered that the new Landlord and Landlady have only been there for a couple of months, so well done !! would also like to say that when writing this review I noticed a few negative reviews ,one regarding a large dog roaming around ! I would like to say that as dog lovers ourselves we did not find this a problem, this lovely dog was very well behaved and never went near the restaurant part of pub .

Visited at the end of June - had a pleasant drink outside in the sunshine but the Sunday lunch was not nice at all - far too much with six vegetables plus potato with ham - all tepid. Vegetables just plain boiled and lacking any sort of imagination- very boring. This is such a pretty pub in a lovely village -shame about the food.

We are very sorry you did not mention about your lunch to one of our staff. Our vegetables are not plain boiled, and we have a 5 star rating from our customers for our home cooked sunday lunch, but I suppose you can not please everyone
