We selected the hotel based on the advise of Longleat Safari Park web site, however, it was very far and there were lots of closer hotel. The hotel is set amid one of the most amazing English gardens any one can see. The rooms are spacious, clean and the service was good. However, it missed minibar in the main building and although the weather was unexceptionally hot during our stay there was no air-conditioning. The hotel's restaurant deserves to be a Michelin star one with amazing and unique food and excellent selection of wine, and a top service as well. The problem with the hotel is that you need to come by car (a taxi would cost you minimum 40 pounds for any closely destination so you may end up spending more than 150 pounds daily on taxis…). We found out that there is a train station at 20 minutes walk inside the adjacent amazing village (a walk that no one should miss also).

I recently stayed for a one night Spa Break with a friend and had a wonderful time. There are many thinks to praise about this hotel; the room was lovely and spacious with all the facilities you'd expect as well as tea & coffee making which often are not present. We had a Classic twin. The bathroom was well appointed, modern, clean and with lovely Elemis toiletries. The hotel had a lovely atmosphere too, and all the staff were all extremely pleasant, polite and helpful.
The Spa was great. It was amazing being outdoors in the lovely sunny weather, but the pool was at such a lovely temperature it would be very pleasant in any weather. The loungers were very comfortable, and the treatments were very good-I'd especially recommend an Elemis facial.
The food was also lovely both for breakfast and the evening meal.
It is an expensive break but only the same price as other Spa breaks and the facilities here are very good, and as it's quite small it has a more exclusive feel.I will happily return for my next treat!

I stayed at this lovely place with my two sons in late June when visiting Bath. It is 6 miles outside of Bath, so you need to have a car if visiting Bath is your main objective. The property is absolutely beautiful and the staff is friendly. I fell in love with the sweet manicured garden and the gorgeous grounds. The main manor house is a little worn, but the Garden Suite that we stayed in is pristine and very up to date in its amenities. The architecture of the house is lovely and very English. This hotel and its grounds were one of the highlights of our entire trip! Great breakfast the next day. The hotel is also known for its spa, which was attractive, but we did not use the spa.

Room Tip: The Garden Suite looks out into the garden and is lovely.

We had a fabulous time. We only stayed for one night and it was so relaxing, we had a wonderful afternoon tea on the front lawn, spent the rest of the afternoon in the spa and then had a fantastic dinner, we slept like logs in our very well appointed bedroom. The staff were excellent. We have booked to stay again early in September. Would highly recommend this hotel.

A group of us stayed here for my sister's hen weekend. Sweet staff, lovely treatments (couldn't have the Indian head massage as there were limited masseurs on duty so opted for just the facial and pedicure) and lots of bubbles. We had so much fun.

The hotel is beautiful although some of the rooms were a little tired but this was made up for by the excellent service and food.

We stayed here as part of a package for staying at Longleat. We had a lovely stay, very relaxing. The spa was an added bonus, with excellent facilities. We had dinner and breakfast and both were delicious, made by a good chef.

We would recommend staying here and would stay again, only a short journey from Longleat. All the staff were very helpful and polite.

Hotel room was very tidy, and spacious. With all the facilities we needed.

We stayed here for one night earlier this week. It was a blissful stay and I would thoroughly recommend staying here.
Good points:
1) Absolutely beautiful decor in room (I think we had Room 2 which was a Deluxe Room) and so spacious. Stunning views of garden.
2) Elemis toiletries in room.
3) Absolutely delightful staff - every member of staff that we met was friendly and attentive.
4) The food - certainly a chef who produces terrific food. Superb dinner and excellent breakfast.
5) The outdoor pool - simply bliss. Well heated pool and incredibly comfortable sun loungers.

Small points that could be improved upon:
1) Piped music played at breakfast. This really was not pleasant and it would be lovely if this could be stopped. I don't know if the piped music was also playing in the drawing room but if it was, I'm afraid that it would nearly stop me returning.
2) At breakfast, a young waitress brought the brown sauce in a dish that on the outside was covered in old brown sauce. This really wasn't acceptable, and as it was so obvious, she should have seen that it should have been changed. A tiny bit more attention to detail.

Overall, we loved our stay here and I am sure that we will return.

Room Tip: Get a room with a view of the garden.
