Me and my boyfriend stayed at the maple tree last weekend (18/5/2013) for 1 night. We were greeted by a lovely couple (owners) that were so friendly and chatty, making us feel very welcome!

We were attending a wedding at 1.30, check in doesn't usually open till 2pm but the lady (owner) allowed us to check in at 12.10 giving us time to freshen up and get changed as we had travelled from Manchester that morning!

When we booked the room we were told over the phone that we were staying in a double room but on arrival into the room, there was a very large double bed plus a single bed, the room was massive, it was such a pleasant suprise! There was also a large set of drawers, dressing table with a very handy wardrobe attached at the back! The bathroom a nice size, clean with a selection toiletries and plenty of nice fluffy towels. The decor was bright and fresh, but mainly the room was SPOTLESS! It has a very high standard of cleanliness which is a very big selling point for myself!

I wish I had booked 2 nights instead of just the one now!

We had abit too much to drink at the wedding so unfortunately didn't manage to get up for breakfast, however the eating area looked spacious, clean and from what we saw a good selection for breakfast!

I would definately go back to the maple tree and highly recommend it!

This was our second visit. Gillian and Robin the proprietors are a lovely couple who go out of there way to make you feel welcome. The rooms are very clean and spacious. I would definitely recommend this guesthouse to others.
Thanks again for making our 4 day break a relaxing stay.

We were visiting for a wedding in Gretna and the room was booked for us so we had no idea what to expect- pleasant surprise in probably an understatement!
The room was clean and spacious, and breakfast was lovely =)
The reception was next door at solway lodge, and i dont think i have had such a good steak in ages!

Definitely would recommend to anyone.

We were on a cartrip in Scotland and this was our best stay. Beautiful room, great breakfast, safe parking and a warm welcome. What more can we add? We were four adults and paid 100 pounds, it was definately worth it. Highly recommended.
