Café de l’Avenir is a gem of a place! Great food, great staff, great prices.

We had numerous meals and drinks at Café de l’Avenir between March 26th and April 5th, 2014, because we were renting an apartment just up the street. Every time, without exception, the food was excellent, drinks were great, and the waitstaff were, like most of the Parisians we met, friendly, warm and helpful. (In fact, that whole myth about Parisians being cold or snobby is nonsense—I’m from Newfoundland, the province with the friendliest people in Canada, and I found Parisians friendly and helpful everywhere we went.

After just a couple of visits all the staff knew and remembered us, and one of them, Vincent, looked after us like we were part of his family. One Friday lunch hour, we wanted their daily special (couscous with merguez), only to be told it was sold out already. We had really been looking forward to it and were disappointed, but ordered something else. A few minutes later, one of the staff came out (we were sitting at one of the lovely little tables outside) and said the chef had offered to make it again that night especially for us, if we wanted to come back for supper! So we did, and it was fabulous. It was a very kind gesture on their part, and is a perfect example of how this is a great restaurant with a great staff that really cares about their customers.

On our last day we made a point of going to see them to say goodbye, and gave them a photo of an iceberg from here in Newfoundland. Later that day they texted us a shot of it on the wall of the restaurant next to their menu!

If you are in the area, go to this café. It’s fabulous.

this hotel is fantastic could not be closer to the garibaldi metro station very reasonable price super clean, warm, and quite slept like a baby at night! staff were very friendly and helpful even gave us a free welcome drink on arrival and were more than happy to answer any questions we had,, mac donalds is just across the road but the food in the restaurant in the hotel is cheap and tasty only around 15mins from the moulin rouge and the same into the heart of paris (via the metro) we had a late flight and there was absolutely no problem with check out times the staff even left us leave all our bags in our room for how ever long we wanted at the end i could not believe we got the hotel at the price we did,,,, if im ever in paris again hands down know where i will be staying

Room Tip: go for the private bathroom option

Great service ! The room was clean and comfortable and has very modern feel about it. The shower was in the room but the toilet was outside the room.

We love the location of the hotel as it was opposite the Garibaldi station so transportation to the city was not a problem. And if you get hungry, the cafe is just downstairs and not forgetting McDonalds opposite the hotel too.

We will definitely stay here again if we ever plan to visit Paris again and we will recommend this place to anyone we know who will be travelling to Paris.

The staff was warm and inviting. They were extremely helpful. The rooms were clean and the beds are comfortable. We arrived at the hotel a few hours earlier than expected and they let us check in early. Vincent was amazing. He helped us with everything. The only downer was there was one toilet per floor and the shower in the rooms have no doors, but nothing a well placed towel couldn't fix. We definitely will use this hotel again.
