I cannot recommend The Peaceful Retreat highly enough!!

The Peaceful Retreat is in a picturesque location with delightful decoration and furnishing throughout and the warm and welcoming hospitality extended by Sarah and Derrick was second to none.

I'll be back!!

We arrived and were greeted by the lovely Sarah and Derick. Our room was delightful with a very 'state of the art shower', a huge bed and lovely views over the countryside.
Would thoroughly recommend your hosts, the food, ambience and peacefulness of the place. Don't delay in visiting - you are missing a treat. C+P

Room Tip: the superior suite was exactly that!

A beautiful property in a lovely part of Wales . Sara greeted us with a lovely cup of coffee and homemade cake and then showed us up to our room which was the superior suite, a lovely room with a nice bathroom and a huge comfortable bed :) we ate our evening meal here the first night and Sarah is a wonderful cook with a great menu avaliable ! The breakfasts are lovely and my husband loved the welsh cooked breakfasts , i loved the homemade spice buns :) We were out every day exploring South Wales so were often late back but if we had wanted we could have sat in the longe and watched tv or read books or magazines. Everything has a lovely relaxed feel to it. The gardens are beautiful and are obviously lovingly maintained ! Overall it was a wonderful break in a beautiful house with a lovely host and we would not hesitate to recommend this guesthouse !

Room Tip: All the rooms are nice but the suite is just that little bit special !

I cannot comment highly enough about my experience at The Peaceful Retreat. The accomodation, standards and settings are 5* plus.

This is bettered by the warm welcome, care and attention that you will receive from Sarah & Derick.

If you are visiting Pembrokeshire then you will not be disappointed with your stay here. A perfect setting to unwind, relax and forget about the real world.

From start to finish our stay was above and beyond what we were expecting! Sarah and Derrick were great hosts, the accomodation was spotless and of a high standard. The food was great and Sarah even provided us with a cheese picnic to enjoy on a beach which she recommended. I have no problem recommending this to others that enjoy quality, comfort and service at a realistic price! We will be going back.

Room Tip: All of the rooms look lovely

We were welcomed by very friendly hosts who offered us tea and cake on our late (10pm) arrival and we were made to feel at home in very lovely surroundings. The hosts were very knowledgeable and happy to go the extra mile (they froze our ice packs and offered us maps to borrow). The only niggle being when we booked the room we hadnt been told our room was not an ensuite and had we known we would have paid the extra for an ensuite; having said that, the private bathroom was nice.
Breakfast was lovely as was dinner. Sarah is a brilliant cook and the food was delicious! Just be sure to ask for a menu when ordering dinner as we werent offered one and so we hadn't realised how much we were going to be billed for our meal and we did get a shock when we checked out, but Sarah was very gracious and gave us a discount on our bill as a result. :)
Happy to recommend this place as it most definately is a peaceful retreat! :)

Stayed at Bwlchmelyn for 7 nights in August 2012. It was comfortable & ,peaceful, with very high standards. Evening meals better than good restaurant standard, mr & mrs J give a memorable "welcome in the hillside" and helped and advised with any queries. When we "come home again to Wales". Bwlchmelyn has to be first choice.
