“A real treat”
Reviewed 6 February 2013 via mobile

We have stayed here twice now as a family of 4 and we cannot thank Derrick and Sarah enough for their warmth and hospitality. The food is incredible and all homemade. The rooms are spotless and cosy. We hope to return again and be spoilt rotten at this impeccable retreat.

Sarah makes you feel so at home and is so welcoming she goes out of her way to make you settle in and start relaxing the minute you walk through the door! The retreat is decorated to high specs I was actually taking notes to steal ideas to use back at my house! The bedrooms are out of this world and very lavish! Yet I think what makes are the little touches Sarah ones out of her way to add. The home made Welsh cakes ( that I was a bit put out at sharing with my Dad, when he ate his and Mums and then wandered over to eat mine!) the fresh fruit and flowers, wine, tea, coffee, hot chocolate and water. In the bathroom there is no end if toiletries not only the typical ones but in the draws (open them it's ok honestly Sarah wants us too be nosey) there are wet wipes, sanitary items even razors! Don't even get me started on Sarah's amazing cooking skills she is incredible and the food is out of this world! My husband and I travel a lot to the the states and he said her Steak is right up there with the best he has ever eaten!! Top compliment believe me! And to op it all the views around this property are stunning! Well what are you waiting for get booking noooooow!
We will be back Sarah!

Room Tip: The main room my parents had that overlooked the lake is amazing the shower is like a dancing disco...

What a truly luxurious, rural and peaceful retreat! We stayed here for 3 nights at the end of October. On the edge of a small village this farm house is stylish yet utterly comfortable with much thought given to guests' needs. Our ensuite room was quirky and restful and I so appreciated the wonderful bedding as well as all the other special touches, champagne, homemade welsh cakes etc. Sarah & Derrick offer a warm welcome and share their wealth of information about the local area freely. They manage to be available without ever being intrusive - a tricky harmony to manage. The attention to detail in this B&B is second to none.

We had breakfast each morning and chose to eat in the first night - the food was so good we also ate in the third night. There is an extensive menu and all the food we had was outstanding - wholesome, incredibly tasty and beautifully presented. The best food we've ever had in a B&B - it was top restaurant standard. We are looking forward to our second visit to this really very special B&B which offers all a warm welcome in the Welsh hillside.

We arrived and were greeted by the lovely Sarah and Derick. Our room was delightful with a very 'state of the art shower', a huge bed and lovely views over the countryside.
Would thoroughly recommend your hosts, the food, ambience and peacefulness of the place. Don't delay in visiting - you are missing a treat. C+P

Room Tip: the superior suite was exactly that!

A beautiful property in a lovely part of Wales . Sara greeted us with a lovely cup of coffee and homemade cake and then showed us up to our room which was the superior suite, a lovely room with a nice bathroom and a huge comfortable bed :) we ate our evening meal here the first night and Sarah is a wonderful cook with a great menu avaliable ! The breakfasts are lovely and my husband loved the welsh cooked breakfasts , i loved the homemade spice buns :) We were out every day exploring South Wales so were often late back but if we had wanted we could have sat in the longe and watched tv or read books or magazines. Everything has a lovely relaxed feel to it. The gardens are beautiful and are obviously lovingly maintained ! Overall it was a wonderful break in a beautiful house with a lovely host and we would not hesitate to recommend this guesthouse !

Room Tip: All the rooms are nice but the suite is just that little bit special !

I cannot comment highly enough about my experience at The Peaceful Retreat. The accomodation, standards and settings are 5* plus.

This is bettered by the warm welcome, care and attention that you will receive from Sarah & Derick.

If you are visiting Pembrokeshire then you will not be disappointed with your stay here. A perfect setting to unwind, relax and forget about the real world.
