Tucked away in a conservative Jewish community on a Friday nite with no restaurants open led us to Mary and Gabriel out for a walk. Hearing our plight they invited us to their Shabat dinner, as their guests. What Israeli hospitality!. The hapina-shel-michal is a wonderful guest house. Room 5 with its 2 big wooden shuttered windows, has an attached porch where we spent several happy hours. We loved being there.

Once again, I stay housed in this hotel boutique. I felt at home. It is located at a very pretty village, close to Rehovot and main highway. It is small place handled by the owner (Michal) and everything have a special details. Thanks Michal!!

We reached the Hpina shel Michal on the night of our wedding - and the place was perfect!
We were so tired and they welcomed us with a lot of love. it was the perfect end to a perfect day!
the room was amazingly beautiful, and there was a feeling that we are in Tuscany!
the Warm treatment we received from Michal and her staff and the breakfast that hed a sense of family was above and beyond our expectations, and I'm sure we return again.

5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 September 2012

I spent Friday-Saturday with my wife and (in another room) another couple. The place was welcoming, comfortable, very different from the hotel-chain scene. The paintings on the wall, the comfortable furnishings--we were pleased with the place and with the price. Breakfast was included and was a good start for the day. And the location is wonderful, on a main street which is nevertheless quiet. Across from us is the museum which brings to life the town's past, there'sa gallery of mosaics just a few houses down (unfortunately closed on Saturday), and an array of places to dine on the block. The whole town seems to be gearing up to become more attractive to tourists, and this hotel--they call themselves a "boutique", and it's justified--is a successful part of that venture. We strongly recommend the place for anyone passing through the area.

Room Tip: Some of the rooms adjoin patios, and you might try to request them, but the others are fine as well.

3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 August 2012 via mobile

This B&B is located in the centre of a Jewish settlement founded in the 1880's near Rehovot in central Israel. We got a substandard room (in a converted bomb shelter) with a small bathroom and a ridiculously cramped toilet. The place and the room are functional but lack charm. Breakfast included all the elements required in an Israeli breakfast but lacked imagination. For instance offering bog standard Cornflakes as the only cereals is really not good enough in 2012. I will not return.

This is a gem of a place to stay over. Not on the tourist trail but it is quiet and very welcoming. There are local restaurants and cafes and I will definitely return. Great value for money and free WiFi throughout.
