Description: Enjoy the tranquility of the garden patio enveloped in this stunning natural setting or relax in the quiet ambiance of Vineyard Hotel's spacious Garden Lounge. The stunning mountain views, the wonderful landscaped gardens and the song of the many varieties of Cape birds that can be found in the vineyard’s garden are just a few of the pleasures to be enjoyed while contemplating an utterly delicious garden lounge menu offering light lunch meals.

The setting is stunning, the wine list interesting and well priced, the service impeccable but the food is not up to standard esp. when there is an award winning restaurant next door. Our group of four got there for a late lunch and we were welcomed by staff that were run off their feet but welcoming and attentive. The menu looks interesting but when it comes to the execution the quality and presentation does not justify the price. Why not get some help.

This is a gorgeous venue. We popped in for high tea on a Sunday afternoon and had delicious cheese cake and carrot cake. The atmosphere is delightfully old world and the gardens are beautiful. If you like a bit of history, there's also an interesting exhibit of original owner Lady Anne Barnard's letters and drawings.

Went there for high tea and was quite impressed with the standard. The hotel has lush gardens which firm a serene and ideal location for lazy high tea. There is no nearby major road so no traffic noise.
The tea was excellent. Wide choice. Accompanied by a great selection of sweets and savouries. The quantities are more than generous. Expect to leave full or caring something.
Cost was about USD12 per person, normally that would be pricey but in this case we'll worth it.

We were a mixed bunch, one vegetarian, one nonagenarian celebrating yet another birthday, two health conscious sexagenarians, one quinquagenarian and two very hungry twenty somethings. We were all spoilt for choice as there are a number of options on the menu. The Salad Vegetarian was devoured with gusto, accompanied by Cranberry Juice, the Cheese Burger was washed down with Peroni on tap, the DELICIOUS Braised Pork Belly with mash met with glowing reports. The Battered Fish and huge chips were wolfed down and the Thai Chicken Wrap pleased the health conscious. Before deserts of strawberry tart, lemon curd crème brulee, and Mille-Feuille with fresh pastry cream and raspberries, we took a stroll around the gardens. We tickled the giant tortoise and then went back to finish our delicious lunch. All in all a wonderful way to celebrate in a gorgeous setting.

Perfect for lunch, the Garden Lounge is a lovely hideaway from the rest of Cape Town. You sit down to views of Table Mountain and the gardens of the hotel and you feel 100miles away from everything. The food is lovely, especially the afternoon tea, they are well known for a lovely spread. It starts from 3pm and it is quite good to book. Also, they have a tortoise in the garden and he has been there for many years, you must try and find him!!
