Reviewed 11 June 2018 for a stay in June 2018

Our stay at Gorse Cottage exceeded our highest expectations. We have stayed in over a dozen places in Ireland and this was our favorite. The picturesque views span as far as the eye can see. The location is ideal for exploring Doolin, the Cliffs, Aran islands, and the Burren. The house is spacious and clean while still feeling warm and welcoming. Ted lives at the top of the hill and was a wonderful resource for local music, hikes and activities. We hope to stay again!

We had the delightful privilege of spending a week at Gorse Cottage in early March. The location is ideal with beautiful scenery out each window; the Burren, Atlantic Ocean and Cliffs of Moher can be seen from the front door. We enjoyed the birds out our kitchen French doors as they sang to us each morning. The cottage is suitably stocked with everything you could need for a home away from home. We were thrilled to find a Scrabble board and play after dinner as we do many nights here in the states. The village of Doolin also has amazing pubs and store keepers willing to advise and assist you to make your vacation a dream! You can’t help but have a fabulous vacation with Cindy and Ted looking out for you! Many thanks to them for making our stay so memorable!

“Spacious and comfortable with amazing views!”
Reviewed 24 February 2018 for a stay in February 2018

This house easily accommodated our party of 5, with stunning views and a very comfortable kitchen and living space. It's very close to Doolin, which has good food and pub options, including live music which we really enjoyed. The countryside is beautiful and the house is situated up on a hill so you get amazing vistas while sipping a cup of tea or eating a meal.

The house is clean and spacious, with plenty of beds, books for a cozy night in, and lots of space in the kitchen for a family meal. We were there in the winter, so the weather was wild, but the house was sturdy even though it sounded like the wind was trying to blow us away! We made good use of the feather comforters, for sure.

Our GPS didn't recognize the given coordinates, so we ended up lost coming from Northern Ireland, but the owner's father Ted was waiting when we arrived very late to help us in. He was very cheerful and helpful and lives just a house away so if there's any worry he's there to assist.

Thanks so much for your review Antoinette. It's really good to have a winter review. I hope you lit up those solid fuel stoves during the wild weather. We love to put our feet up with a nice real fire when the weather comes in. I'm sorry to hear that the GPS co-ordinates were not recognised by your sat nav and will double check that this evening, though I do believe they are correct. But nice to hear that you all had a good time, and very funny to hear about Ted to bumping into you when you arrived. Thanks again for taking the time to leave a review.

During our ten day stay with our adult children, we all agreed the house was the perfect choice. We loved the wind whistling around us at night while we were cozy inside. The views from each window were magnificent. Every day as we stepped outside we marveled at the vistas. The house is truly equipped with everything one might need. Beds are comfy and the house is immaculate
The location was perfect for traveling to the Aran Islands, Cliffs of Moher, Galway, the Burren, and all the small villages along the way. The pubs were friendly, and the music every night was delightful.
We couldn't have asked for a better place to help us make memories. We all loved it.

Thanks so much for taking the time to leave a review and sharing a little piece of your experience. We really appreciate the feedback. We love going to the Aran Islands too. We like to rent some bikes on the island and cycle over to the western side of the island where we unpack our picnic looking out to sea with nothing between us and the USA. Kids enjoy playing between the boulders in the green fields. Great fun. Thanks again for staying with us. You were great guests.

It was lovely to read about the good times you had in Doolin and surrounds. Cullinans in Doolin is also one of our favourite restaurants in the area. Ballinalackin Castle is great too. We haven't tried Sheedys in Lisdoonvarna but have heard it's good.....so maybe next time. Thanks for sharing some of your tips for the area. There are so many good places to eat these days that it's hard to go wrong. Hope you can all make it back again sometime soon.
