“Best campsite”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 June 2014

I'm just back from camping at Riverside for my second Doolin Folk Festival (yea-7 nights for the price of 6 ) The campsite is so well maintained, in a beautiful position and has really good facilities for campers, the showers are always hot and 5 minutes for 1 euro is plenty of time to shower and wash reasonably long hair. Last year was cold with torrential rain, this year was glorious sunshine and warm, no matter what the weather this is the perfect place to camp, easy walking to all the attractions Doolin has to offer and so much to see and do on the beautiful coast and The Burren. The O'Connors are so welcoming and helpful and always available when needed. As a lone female camper this site is really comfortable and secure. If you haven't got a tent, caravan or mobile home then try a little glamping in the fabulous new Yurts, they look great.

Just back from camping trip on the west coast. This camp site is great, clean, within walking distance to pubs/restaurants and town only 10 minutes drive away. Kitchen has a fridge and tea making facility, you have to bring your own tea, milk etc, plenty of showers, washing machines and a shop on site for the basics, would have no problem recommending this site to people. We stayed in a tent.

Just back from camping here for 4 nights whilst on a motorcycle holiday with 4 friends. For us it ticked all the boxes, central location for touring the west coast, clean, good showers although 1 euro for 5 minutes wasnt just enough after 8 hours riding however they were warm. We pitched along the river side and it was beautiful to open the tent in the morning to the view. Staff were very friendly and were there when you needed them otherwise you were left to your own devices which was great. Kitchen had everything you could need, loads of space to park the bikes. Bring midge repellant!!!! Cannot fault O'Connors one bit keep it up guys.

As for Doolin its a lovely place split into 3 small villages, we went to Fitzpatricks bar on the first night and never went back, good music and food but a bit more expensive than the other pubs in the area, the prices seemed to go up as the night went on, my friend ordered a double Famous Grouse towards the end of the night and it cost 12 euro!!!!!! and when he asked were the price list was he was ignored. We ate and drank in Gus O'Connors pub for the next 3 nights in the last part of Doolin and the food was fantastic plus the drink prices stayed the same all night. Trad sessions were brilliant as well.

If your planning a tour of Ireland's west coast then this campsite is around 250 miles from Belfast with real good ride outs around the area, stay here you wont be dissapointed

Have just arrived back from staying here. Fabulous facilities, as previously mentioned showers were always hot and site is kept spotless. We pitched right beside the river (I didn't pick the spot) it was actually perfect until the last day when the wind was really high. Will follow the advise from a previous poster and go behind the hedge next time. Wouldn't have any problem in recommending this site in future or heading back.

Beautiful camp site right by the riverside. Stayed two nights. Friendly staff, good facilities. Couple of minutes walk to the local pub Fitzpatricks Bar where you can get good food at reasonable prices. Music every night - starts early with light guitar ballads and then later with traditional music. Played Pooh sticks on route from campsite. Grass or hard standing for motorhomes. Could not fault site at all - would certainly recommend and call again if in the area.

We stayed here for 2 nites with our camper van. The campsite is kept very well, shower's are immaculate and heated usual facilities game's room, kitchen etc. Staff are very pleasant and helpful. Will be back in the near future! Doolin is a good weekend away for young and old.

Cracking spot, very clean, nice and quiet, good facilities, close to good pubs and only a 15 min walk to the pier. Very reasonably priced. Only down side and its been mentioned before, that there is no ATM or proper shop near by, so come prepared :-) Cant wait to head back to this spot :-)
