We stayed here for two nights and very much enjoyed it. Our room had a beautiful view of the Aran Islands. It was so peaceful, looking from our window across a green expanse of lawn to the water and the Aran Islands with the late afternoon sun streaming through the clouds. Very calming. It is farther out of town than I thought it was going to be, definitely not walking distance.
Our large room was nicely furnished with a king bed, two night tables, two upholstered chairs and a round table, and a chest. Very comfortable. The bathroom was fine with a tub/shower combination, but sadly lacking in counter space. The public rooms are elegant in an old school way, but still comfortable.
Dennis took us to the old castle so we could go inside it. We could climb the winding stone staircases all the way to the top of the tower. No handrails or barriers here!
They serve both breakfast and dinner at the hotel. The breakfast was very good and we had dinner the second night of our stay. Dinner was wonderful, and after dinner we went up to the bar for an after dinner drink.More
