“Good paddling; great host”
Reviewed 16 April 2014

My 16 year old daughter and I booked a 3 hour trip for April. Kelly did a fantastic job of staying in touch via email to finalize the details in the days leading up to our trip. Really wanted to do the cliffs and caves tour but the conditions were not right, so Kelly recommended the Ballyvaughan trip. We saw a few seals ( it's a little early in the season) and several species of local and migratory birds. Paddled across Galway Bay to a Martello tower and got out of the kayaks for a closer look and for a bit of a stretch so we would be ready to paddle back into the moderate headwinds. Our guide, Patrick, was truly terrific: He gauged our skill and energy and had a plan that suited us... It was clear that he had several courses ready dependent upon our level. He was well-informed on a wide variety of topics, incredibly easy- going, and a true pleasure with whom to spend an afternoon paddling.

Good afternoon cained,

Thank you for taking the time to write us a great review!

We are so pleased you and your daughter enjoyed your paddle with Patrick in April, our Wild Burren tour in Ballyvaughan is a great paddle no matter what time of year you are going!

Our main goal is the comfort of our clients when they are out on the water, as we don't want anyone coming away feeling they were out of their depth while out in the kayaks. We do take different routes depending of skill level and sea conditions, to make for a better paddling experience.

Patrick really enjoys telling our clients about the huge variety of seabirds and sealife that surround us here on the west coast, so I'm glad you got to see some of the birds and seals that live in Galway Bay.

We hope to see you again in the future!

Best regards,
Patrick & Kelly

“Stunning”
Reviewed 25 September 2013

We were a family of 5,with my mother (60) in tow, and Patrick catered to us beautifully. Leaving from Ballyvaghan, the sun was out, the sea glassy and we poodled along via seals and seabirds to a castle to stop for snacks, and then returned. Patrick is friendly, knowledgeable and has all the best equipment. Great way to experience the Burren and Galway Bay and would recommend it to everyone.

We, a group of 2 children age 9 and 12 and 2 adults kayaked with Patrick in July around ballyvaughan. It was fantastic and Patrick was very a very helpful and pleasant tutor and guide. I hope to do it again in a few weeks with some friends.

“Cliffs and Caves”
Reviewed 27 August 2013

To experience this kayaking tour is rare because of the swells. However, when we were in IRELAND, we definitely lucked out! We had the most georgeous weather and we were able to go through about 3 or 4 different caves! It was amazing. My hands were a little sore after the 4 hour kayaking trip- but it was definitely worth every minute!

Do not overlook this kayaking company- they are the best!

“Top notch”
Reviewed 12 August 2013

Great time, with a group ranging from mid twenties to late fifties. Hoped to do the sea caves tour originally but long range forecast wasn't favourable (requires high tide, no swell, little wind) so booked the tour of the burren instead. Conditions the day before and the day of (gale force winds and high seas) meant we had to change to go inland to the lake and river but this was no compromise as we had a great 3 and a half hours on the water. Patrick and Kelly were great guides, great communication in the lead-up and full of info on the local sights and points of interest. All the gear (wetsuits, kayaks, life jackets) was in very good/new condition. Would definitely be back to try the other tours. Top notch.
