Aille River hostel is small and clean and very friendly. There aren't too many places to eat and hang out, so finding dinner eating space can be a bit of a challenge.
Bed was nice, room had faint smell of livestock so we aired it out with the Window. The window opened to the ceiling so don't keep it open when you leave the room. Passing rain showers are frequent and will soak your stuff! The Hostel requires a 24 hour confirmation and are rather pesky about it, too.
Otherwise, the place is rather perfect for staying overnight. See if you can outlast the tour buses at OConnors or McGann's, McDermott's pubs, it'll be worth it! Oconnors is to the right as you head to the main road, and the two others are to the left. Even Fitzpatrick's right at the main intersection has music.
BTW, for a good lunch, go to McDermott's. Great food especially the Guinness Beef Pie. Avoid OConnors which is overrun with recurring tour buses all day.
