“Very welcoming , friendly and service hostel”
Reviewed 21 August 2013

Thanks to Carmel & Mattie for their very good welcoming, advices, service. All was very good and friendly in this hostel. Bicycle too in it. Near for the cliffs, the Aran islands, the burren. Climbing sites. Bus just front of the hostel. À lot of people came for the 2nd or 3rd Time here because of the great atmosphère of this hostel

I went to the rainbow hostel with 2 friends to try out some surfing lessons just a few kms away on Fanore beach. The owners of the hostel were really warm, friendly and welcoming. The hostel rooms were really clean, kitchen was organised in such a way that we only cooked in and didn't have the need to even want to eat out, great eating area either inside or out! The living area was so inviting and cosy, friendly families staying along with a mix of young people on their travels, so a great mix! We will definitely be returning:)

The Hostel is conveniently located to all the sights in the Burren and to the famous Cliffs of Moher and the owners are very laid back and relaxed. The rooms were small (B&B) to very small (hostel) and without any furnishings (not even a bedside lamp). Breakfast consisted of a few scones, butter & jam, tea and instant coffee, not really enough for all the people staying there.
Wifi was not working on our second evening and cards were not accepted for payment, the next ATM being several kilometers away.

I could not speak highly enough of Rainbow Hostel. It is run by Carmel and John, a lovely couple who immediately extended a warm welcome to me. The hostel is oozing character, a beautiful common room, spacious kitchen and a peaceful back garden. Freshly baked scones await you in the morning and bikes can be rented for 5 euro per day. At 15 euro per night and within 2 minutes walk to the pubs, Rainbow Hostel is the way to go.

Great hostel with a warm atmosphere!
Interactive hosts made this a way beyond average stay, Mattie was so engaging in sharing about their Irish culture and history, including that the hostel was his grandfather's home!

Mattie and Carmel tend to the needs of their guests with a lightheartedness and joy that permeates and fills the small front room with warm expansiveness. Stayed three nights and in hindsight wished I had returned after Connemara...There is so much of the heart of West Ireland and its core is County Clare and its heart is in Doolin...If your looking for a place to use as a hub...
highly recommend...it's central location is ideal.
Blessings to the beautiful friends I met there.

This was my favorite hostel I stayed in while in Ireland. I only stayed one night but I would have gladly stayed a week here. It has a very pleasant and homey feel. It was very clean and looked pretty new. I believe I stayed in an 8 person mixed dorm room with an attached bathroom. The bathroom was very clean and spacious with good water pressure. If you're in Doolin, than I recommend staying here. It's by McDermotts Pub.
