“Best place to capture the warmth of Irish traditional music and hospitality”
Reviewed 13 May 2011

My wife and I traveled recently throughout County Clare. Had only positive experiences—the Irish live up to their reputation as hospitable and warm hosts. However, staying at Daly’s House for a couple of nights was the highlight. The breakfast was excellent, the rooms well kept and comfortable, the location convenient yet secluded, and the views of the area spectacular. As the other reviewers attest, Susan is an excellent, considerate, and thoroughly knowledgeable owner who takes a genuine interest in ensuring that her guests make the most of their stay in Doolin. Even in the short time we were there, Susan personally took time to help us out and made our trip that much better as a result. A musician and native of the area, Susan is the perfect person to help you get the most out of the music and culture the town and area have to offer. Very highly recommended.

I stayed one night at Daly's House and I had a great experience. Susan is wonderful, very helpful with everything you need (restaurant reservation, boat trip to the Aran island or Cliffs of Moher). I booked a triple room which was huge, very clean and quiet. Breakfast was also very good, I had a yoghurt with fruit really really tasty. The position is perfect, just a few minutes walk from O'Connor pub.

We stayed at the Daly's House our very first night in Ireland and it was the best way to kick off our wonderful trip. Susan welcomed us with great conversation, a glass of Bailey's and cookies and laughter watching her fantastic dog George run around the gardens. The room was cozy and comfortable. Susan gave us lots or recommendations, but we could not pass on listening to great music at Gus O'Connors, which is walking distance away. Great tip from Susan, she had flashlights in the room - very helpful on our late night walk from the pub.

We also met quite a few of Susan's family - her husband, daughters, brother - and when we ran into her at Inis Oir felt like we were old friends. Daly's House and Susan (and her entire family) is everything we love about Ireland. Our only regret is staying one night! l recommend staying her if Doolinis a stop on your holiday. We will be back soon.

Susan is a great hostess and breakfast is a marvel. Rooms were very comfy but nothing special. Loved the garden, the view of the ruins, the view of the Cliffs, and the proximity to O'Connell's Pub!!!

Daly's House in Doolin is why you come to Ireland. Susan Daly's warm hospitality and lovely manner is the hallmark of Irish tourism. She is exactly the person you would love to meet after a long day of driving on narrow roads. We were greeted with a full tea tray in her lovely garden where we sat within view of two castle ruins and an explosion of spring flowers. Best of all, she joined us at the table. As her family drifted in, we were introduced as old friends. Rory, her nephew and an expert baker, brought over the scones for the next day. Sean, her twin brother and chef at Riverview Restaurant, also stopped over and later came out of the kitchen at the restaurant later to greet us. Doolin, the heart of Irish traditional music, has sessions each night at the three local and packed pubs. There are just enough shops to leisurely shop for a few minutes and each proprietor asks you where you're staying and then raves about the Daly's. Our room looked out over the countryside, a tower ruin and lovely rolling farms and homes. Breakfast was leisurely and lovely in a sun-filled room where one of the treats on the menu is oatmeal with brown sugar and Bailey's. You may stay in grander homes and huge hotels during your travels in Ireland, but you will not stay anywhere where the warmth and hospitality exceeds your stay at the Daly's House. Daly's House is why you come to Ireland.

Room Tip: One side garden view, other countryside.

Susan was absolutely fantastic in making sure out stay with her was perfect. Was a surprise weekend for my now fiancée and Susan was brilliant to have the room ready with flowers chocolates etc.. Greeted with a lovely Irish coffee and fine Irish hospitality in the garden and was kindly given a lift to the local restaurant (road house - v good). Truly a great stay and memorable experience. Room and breakfast top notch too, would thoroughly recommend.

You are greeted by a great host who offers a Bailey's on the rocks or in coffee. The room is nice, clean, in suite bathroom and quiet. The breakfast was great to get you going for the day for hiking around or whatever your plans may be. The B&B is walking distance to a great pub with good food, drinks and music. It's a 10 minute drive to the Cliffs of Moher. A short walk or drive to the boats to go out to the island and see the Cliffs from the water. Susan also set us up with tee times at Lahinch a beautiful and somewhat challenging links couse about a 10 - 15 minute drive away.
I've already recommended this place to others I know who are planning a trip to Ireland.
