“A delightful B&B in a lovely town”

We just had the opportunity to spend a week in Ireland off-season (February). Besides there being no crowds, having a great opportunity to meet the local folks and taking advantage of very low airfares, we had seven days without rain (a record of sorts)! One great spot to visit, especially if you like traditional Irish music and the quaint Irish seashore is Doolin in County Clare, about an hour's drive from Shannon Airport. Our B&B was Daly's House, run by Susan Daly and her daughter Katie. Susan is an accomodating host, the B&B is clean and comfortable with a great breakfast, and it's a very convenient base from which to explore the Cliffs of Moher, the Burren, the Clare seacoast and, of course, the local pubs (with music nightly all year long)! Daly's House is very close to O'Connors Pub, our favorite. Susan and Katie are quite musical themselves (as it appears are most of the residents of Doolin). Ask them to sing a song!

We have just returned from a wonderful holiday in Co. Clare. If you are thinking of planning a trip there then we really do recommend that you book yourselves in to Daly's House B&B in Doolin. Susan Daly is just lovely - she made us so welcome,is friendly, funny & just wants you to love her home, village of Doolin & Co Clare as much as she & her family do.
The accomodation is really good - quiet, warm & spacious en- suite rooms, prettily decorated, comfy bed, tea/coffee making, lots of hot water etc!!! Breakfasts were a feast - perfect to set you up for the day ahead, accompanied by friendly chat with your fellow travellers & some very helpful ideas from Susan about your plans.Somehow those plans always came with a little reminder that 'the music in the bar down the road starts at ...time & dont forget that food is served there till 9pm - see you there!' So, we thoroughly recommend Daly's House, lovely Doolin & the bar down the road!

On our first trip to Ireland, we did not know what to expect. We had heard about the beauty of the country and it's great people but being first time overseas travellers, we simply didn't know.
The room was beautiful, and the bathroom was huge. We had fresh towels every day and our room was always spotless. Breakfast was always a treat because we got to talk to owners Susan and Kate ( a great mother/daughter team!). The funny anecdotes and stories every morning was something to look forward to. My friend was a bit ill from overindulgence in O'Connors pub the night before and couldn't quite make the breakfast table, Susan sent him a nice breakfast to the room and he was right as rain soon after! The breakfast was excellent every day. (We stayed 7 days) We came home and started planning our next trip back and we will only stay at Daly's House!

On our many trips to Ireland we usually tour the East Coast. This past December we decided to explore the West Coast of Ireland. I searched TripAdvisor website for accommodations and also recommendations. After seeing that Daly's B&B in Dollin was ranked number one in that Area, and also after reading the reviews of previous guests, decided on Daly's B&B. After staying there for four days we can definitely see why Daly's was ranked number one. From the time we arrived at the B&B, Susan Daly treated us as if we were family, with a nice cup of tea, then a review of our room which was so cozy and comfortable with great bathrooms. The next morning we were invited to eat breakfast in the dining room. We are not normally breakfast eaters, but it was SO good, lovely bacon, sausages, eggs, tomatoes and the delicious brown bread. Along with the lovely breakfast the great conversations with Susan and Kate we will not forget.
In fact, I couldn't wait for breakfast every day. Definitely walk down to O'Connors pub (only about three blocks down the hill) for great Irish Music and the best Irish Coffee we have every had. Also, take the time to visit the Doolin Crafts Gallery, with handmade jewelry (very different and beautiful), plus unusual pottery, etc. You can also have lunch there.

When we were leaving Doolin to visit other parts of the West Coast, Susan gave us a wealth of information on ther B&B's, restaurants and sites to see along the way. Susan also took the time and effort to book us in other B&B's on the West Coast.

Thank you Susan and Kate for making our vaction in Doolin very special, Daly's B&B was by far the most memorable B&B we have ever stayed at in Ireland, both East Coast and West Coast.
