“Lovely Stay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 June 2014

We can only echo what the other reviewers are saying about Sea View. We just stayed 1 night, but thoroughly enjoyed our time in Doolin, especially the cliffs boat trip that Darra recommended! The room was cozy and breakfast was plentiful and delicious. Plan to do the cliffs trip in the evening as she suggests, you'll be glad you did!

The Seaview House is a lovely home with an excellent location within walking distance of downtown Doolin. Hosts Niall and Darra are very warm & gracious. Breakfast was scrumptious and Darra was especially helpful with suggestions of things to do, directions and other useful information.

We booked two nights at the Sea View House during a ten day stay in Western Ireland in mid-May, and found it to be just delightful! The accommodations were comfortable and pleasant, the hosts exceptional, the other guests as wonderful as one could hope for, and the breakfast uniquely exquisite. Darra and Nialls put a lot of thought and effort into good food, local food, presented well and in healthy quantity, and I just have to say that I cannot get that frittata out of my mind. And, maybe that is a good thing, because I definitely have some unfinished business at the Sea View House breakfast table on a future trip, for sure.

And maybe it is because of the attention to detail, that this accommodation gets my highest rating. For example, having coffee available when one leaves the house for adventure after breakfast, pashmina shawls for sitting on the deck and enjoying the wonderful view, a scale in the room for weighing luggage, details on travel times for arriving and departing and making airport connections, and just the supportive and generally positive atmosphere for the traveler. My wife was interested in the cooking and asked Nialls about a particular cookbook, and the next morning, that book was on the sitting room table.

And plenty could be said for the food. Sure, they pay attention to the local, organic products, and the presentation of the food, but there is so much to be said about the excellent preparation involved. I couldn't get by repeating the frittata two days in a row, but my wife hopes that Nialls will expand and share his talents by providing some cookery instruction. Indeed, Irish cuisine is an emerging art, deserving of its own appreciation, and we think places like the Sea View House are making inroads in raising expectations at the Irish table, and honoring the results.

This is a review of Sea View House, but I should mention that the location is spectacular for visiting Doolin, appreciating the music and culture of the area, accessing the Aran Islands, and of course visiting the Ciffs of Mohr. We took the walk along the coast from the lodging and were rewarded with spectacular views, the prettiest cows in Western Ireland, and the magnificent cliffs. And 95 percent of that walk was without tourists, just the grandeur and beauty of the ocean and rugged coast.

Stay at the Sea View House. It is spectacular. You won't regret it. I give it our highest, unqualified recommendation.

Thank you so much for your unqualified recommendation and detailed review.
It was a pleaseure to have you both as guests and we enjoyed chatting each morning.

Glad to read that you appreciated all the little details that we put in place.
Thank you also for your kind comments about our food.
We are constantly working on our menu so that we take advantage of all the wonderfull produce that the Buren and Cliffs of Moher Geoark has to offer.

If we ever offer cookery courses you will be the first to be invited.

Darra and Niall are very helpful and friendly host. We got a lot of information’s about “the Burren” and what to do or where to eat. We love to hike so Niall told us a really nice hiking route include a route with car to see all important places of “the Burren”.
The B&B itself is at a wonderful place with view to the sea and to Fisher Street. The selection for the breakfast is huge and very very good in a nice atmosphere. In the room is all what you need.
Thank you very much Darra and Niall
Best regards from Petra & Patrik

Owners Nial and Dara have spared no effort in creating a hotel-style experience at Sea View. They combine great presentation with a very welcoming atmosphere. The breakfast was really gourmet and their recommendations about what to see and do in the area were spot on.

First time in a B&B and Dara and Niall made us feel so welcome in their home. Beautiful view from the deck, close to the town..... literally just right there! Dara was great with suggestions on what to do where. She goes above and beyond to make not only your stay in their home warm and inviting but to make sure you see the best sights on your trip and she will help you with reservations with what ever you are looking to do. And breakfast.....I wish I had more than two days there to have all that Niall could make!! Doolin is a favorite place for me and Sea View would be the only place I'd stay!!

The location is perfect, beautiful views from the front deck of the B&B. Great location just a few steps from town. The rooms were wonderful, the breakfasts were perfect. Niall does a fabulous job with the breakfasts and Dara's Porridge with a touch of Bailey's is heaven. Can not say enough about the couple that run the B&B. They are so warm and welcoming, you feel as if you are visiting relatives. That is just how much they make you feel at home. Dara was so helpful with suggestions on things to see and do and even made reservations for our Cliff Cruise.
My husband and I have travelled extensively and have stayed in many B&Bs and this one is definitely a front runner for number one!
