We loved it! Bea made us feel right at home! This was our first night in Ireland and coming directly from the airport, we were tired! She let us into our room earlier than usual so that we could have a nap before heading out. She also arranged tickets for us on the ferry out to the islands. Breakfast was delicious, served in a cute breakfast room filled with antiques and memorabilia. The place is a short drive into town and to the Cliffs of Moher.
This is my favorite B&B, one I am always happy to get to after a long flight to Shannon. The hostess and staff are lovely people, warm, considerate, and engaging, the rooms bright and clean (and we could see glimpses of the surf at Doolin Beach in the distance from our 2nd floor room), and the breakfast is great. I especially love the breakfast room, which is decorated with antiques, photos, wooden harps, and other interesting items.
In addition, it is a great jumping off point to explore the Cliffs of Moher (ten minutes away), Lahinch, rocky Doolin Beach, Gus O'Connors wonderful pub, and the Burren.
This was our first B&B in Ireland and it was wonderful! Bea is a fantastic and very sweet hostess ensuring that we were comfortable. Her breakfasts were very good and plentiful; especially her great French toast.She made arrangements for us to get on the Doolin2Aran Ferries going to the Aran Islands and then under the Cliffs of Moher. It was a great trip and well worth the money. We really enjoyed our first Irish B&B experience and would highly recommend the Atlantic Sunset House.
Warm hospitality and decent accommodations were the pluses here. The location was convenient in one sense--right on the main road bypassing town, but not so convenient for listening to music in pubs in the evening--long (1-1 1/2 miles uphill walk) back home. We really enjoyed our hostess.
Bea was a terrific hostess and very friendly. We enjoyed our stay at this B&B; however, Doolin wasn't a very exciting town. It is close to the Cliffs of Moher (which are beautiful) and The Burren (which is...rocky to say the least), but if you're looking for a "happening" place, Doolin isn't where you want to end up. It does have a good Irish music scene, but none of the pubs are really within walking distance of the B&B, and we didn't see any sign of a cab service anywhere. Overall, Altantic Sunset is a great place to stay, and Bea is fantastic, but we probably won't go back to Doolin except to see the Cliffs again.
We stayed one night at this very nice B&B. The staff was great, breakfast was wonderful and the location was superb. Recommend this to anyone staying in the area.
