Having found most of the nearby hotel's full booked. The Queens Head at Littlebury was brought to my attention. The owners Paul and Lana, have done a superb job refurbishing and rebranding the rooms, restaurant, menu and Inn. For to-days traveller's: There is a variety of starters, mains and sweets on the menu with a vegetarian option. Meats, fish and vegetables are locally sourced were possible. The bedrooms have been thoroughly refurbished to a high standard throughout as have the on-suites (with excellent showers). Clean, fresh & comfortable. After de-stressing, you can relax and enjoy the restaurant, bar, or garden. Both Paul and Lana's excellent service and attention to detail would put many hotels and Inn's to shame. A Superb find. Would readily recommend.

We arrived in a thunderstorm & Paul the landlord came out with umbrellas for us all that was typical of the service level he gave throughout our stay. The rooms were clean & comfortable & good value for money & the food was very good. We will definitely stay again when next on the area

My wife and I were looking to stay in an Inn with character for a couple of days, whilst we visited the nearby Audley End House, Saffron Walden and Duxford Airfield and Museum.
The Queens Head was overflowing with character. The owners could not do enough to make sure our stay was a good one. The food was excellent and every dish cooked fresh. The bar and lounge area with its huge open fire and comfy settles was excellent. The rooms clean and fresh with excellent showers, and super comfy beds. Our stay and overall experience at The Queens Head was very very good.
I do not recognise a previous review as being about this pub, the writer either visited another pub or is a very difficult person to please, and I do not think hearsay evidence has any place in a review. We will certainly be visiting the Queens Head at Littlebury again, and would readily recommend this establishment to friends.

Room Tip: Ideal for families, the Pub has a large walled safe children friendly garden.

Having been recommeded you are never too sure as others views may not truely reflect yours, on this occassion the venue exceeded the recommendation.
The stay and overall experience was excellant.
At times like this I still wished I lived in a village with a pub similiar to this, however it does give an excuse to book up and stay once more.

What a load of bull! There is nothing at all wrong with this public house, restaurant or accomodation! Do not believe all of the rubbish remarks.

Food is delicious, there is no wait for food, or breakfast to arrive. Everything you want from breakfast is provided, plenty of choice of fruit juice, brown or white bread, cereal, hot cooked breakfast, tea coffee etc. And plenty of choice for children. The price charged to stay is very very good value for money.

The staff are lovely, the landlord and landlady are friendly warm and most accomodating, the couldnt do enough for us.

The rooms are pleasant and comfortable, with lots of lovely little touches and more than enough hot water and heating! Cant believe someone put a comment on here about a window! There are some Petty and silly people out there, who have nothing better to do than nit pick, get a life! The windows are fine.

There is a beautiful little snug with an open fire if you want to relax and read a book or paper. And a lovely large garden for my little boy to let off steam.

This place is the best that I have stayed in for a long time, I had a great stay there and would definatly go again.

I read the recent negative review after my time there and feel moved to write something which I dont normally do.

How different our experience was.

Superb building, Open fire, quality food: perhaps the portions were too big. Pleasant and humourous staff, Interesting wine list.

Great location, near Saffron Walden, the area is a walker's paradise.

A trip to Audley End House (English Heritage, a walk away) is a must

Thank you for your kind comments. You are correct in that we have a superb location. Being the nearest accommodation to Audley End House is a huge benefit. Its just a short walk form here and many of our guests take advantage of that.
