“Good value for light lunches”
Reviewed 3 May 2014

Have visited this coffee shop many times and would highly recommend the bacon and egg pie. Staff are efficient and welcoming. This is a very popular place with cyclists and motorists alike and can get very busy but it's worth the wait. Free coffee refills at the counter.

“Always First Rate”
Reviewed 27 April 2014

We are frequent visitors to this coffee shop and it never fails to delight. The staff are pleasant, welcoming and friendly and the food is consistently fresh and always homemade. In winter the fire is always roaring and the rooms are warm. I am quite happy to have tea or filter coffee with hot milk and don't need a vast choice of different coffees from a noisy, hissing Italian machine. I do need homemade, freshly prepared food in a warm, welcoming environment. Be warned, it is very busy at peak times as there are many regular customers. Why not become one of them?

“Lovely cakes ”
Reviewed 21 April 2014 via mobile

We went here on Easter Friday after a visit to Belsay Hall. We had been recommended and we weren't disappointed. Cakes were very tasty and the place was immaculate. Belsay Hall and the Blacksmiths coffee shop will now be a regular on my places to visit list !
