I travelled during February half term with a friend on a Secret Escapes deal. The hotel and grounds are absolutely beautiful and the rooms are spacious and beds very comfy. We had dinner on one of the two nights and food was lovely. Tea and coffee making facilities were not provided in the room but were brought up on request. However there was some sloe gin provided in the rooms free of charge which was a nice touch.

In my opinion there are two things that let the hotel down are:
-The SPA location - whilst the pool/sauna/steam room are located in the hotel, the SPA itself - where you go to have any treatments or go to the gym - is located elsewhere in the grounds so you need to walk over there (5-10 mins) which is not great if it's raining! They can take you over in one of their golf buggies but you still get wet!
-Service - whilst this was excellent most of the time a few basic things could be improved e.g. we kept having to ask for milk with our tea, and we sometimes had to order drinks twice because they forgot. But it's not a deal breaker. The afternoon tea was lovely but slightly over-priced.

Stayed for three nights with my Sister for her birthday. Lovely afternoon tea, though we didn't get a complementary top - up of the champers as we did last year- cut - backs I guess.Staff attentive & friendly.Evening meal superbly cooked, & breakfasts were fab. Thanks for providing tea& coffee making facilities in our room this time. One, (teeny!) gripe , we were sitting peacefully reading in front of the fire in the lounge - really enjoying the relaxing silence, & the only people in the room , when a member of staff put a cd of 60's music on the cd player - quite loud!We put up with it for ten minutes, then could stand no more & went to the bar to ask for it to be turned- off - which the barman did straight away. We would have liked to have asked if we wanted to share the lounge with The Righteous Brothers & The Supremes! Rather a strange choice of 'lift musak' at breakfast too! All in all , we thoroughly enjoyed our second visit to Stapleford Park, we were treated royally , & cannot wait to return.

We stayed for one night but it was so relaxing it felt longer. The house is spectacular and feels very special. The staff were very professional and friendly. We used the pool and although it was a little chillier than we are used to, it is a good length and you can have a decent swim. The jacuzzi and steam room were disappointing but it didn't really matter as we enjoyed the pool so much. We didn't use the spa but my wife had spent a day there on a previous occasion and had been very impressed.
The food isn't the best we've ever eaten but was pretty good and the apple crumble soufflé is recommended. We'd had something similar at Hambleton Hall and preferred this version. The breakfast was really good, the individually made omelette was gorgeous, the only criticism was the cold toast.
Our room was Nobilis. Although it wasn't pristine the slightly faded look in some areas fitted in with the historic country house atmosphere. The bed was really comfortable. I wouldn't recommend this room if you're a light sleeper as my wife was kept awake by a fan either from the boilers or the kitchens. Although this was mentioned twice to staff no one seemed very concerned. I was fine and slept through everything!
Overall as it was on our bucket list and despite a few minor niggles, was a memorable experience in an amazing building, I've scored it well.

Night away no kids, so here we go.

Warm welcome, roaring fires and multiple reception rooms. A friend told me it was the house of 3 halls, and indeed it was, beautiful spaces.

Partner had a Clarins massage and was very impressed, I used the gym again good, not David Lloyd but quiet and lots of kit. Strangle the gym and spa are not in the same building with the Pool being in the main building, however it is big (21m).

Dinner in the 'old kitchen' served well, service very good. We usedsecret escapes and dinner was included all bar £21 of supplements however worth it.

Room great, a slight upgrade but worth it I think, an breakfast very enjoyable too.

I've been to Stapleford Hall for afternoon tea a couple of times now. It is a nice experience, the cakes and sandwiches are very good, though we have had better, it's worth a visit. The house itself is very nice, there's a billiards room and several places / rooms in which to relax.

We've also done the clay pigeon shooting there, at £70 pp, it's not cheap. That was very good, there were 4 of us and we did get a good few rounds in within the hour allocated, the timing was just right. Two of us hadn't done it before and two had, it did meet our needs in terms of assistance for the learners and pointers/tips for those who had done it before. I'd recommend it for an enjoyable day out

We have recently returned from Stapleford Park where we spent two nights with our family celebrating our Ruby Wedding Anniversary.
Our stay was first class in every way. The staff were wonderfully attentive without being intrusive.
The location was perfect for us being close to the A1 and midway between Yorkshire and London. The estate itself is stunning. There was so much to do for ourselves and our grandchildren aged 10 months to 10 years with use of the swimming pool, outdoor games, and a well thought out treasure hunt around the house, certainly no time to be "bored".The food was beautifully cooked and well presented and nothing was too much trouble for the staff who looked after us faultlessly all weekend.Thank you to all the team at Stapleford Park who made our celebrations even more special. We shall certainly return.

Stapleford Park is an outstanding hotel by any method of analysis I can think of. I have stayed here on a number of occasions in the last couple of years and I have had the pleasure of also staying at many of the finest hotels around the world but this one really does tick all the boxes. The property is magnificent and the interior beautifully decorated. The welcome on arrival whether you are new or a known guest makes you feel like you have arrived 'home' and the staff (though I see from other reviewers not always praised 100%) are in my experience outstanding in every way. The food is pleasantly on the sane side of haute cuisine. The bedrooms range from stately to elegant and some are wonderfully decorated with murals from a local artist. Yet despite all its splendour the place is wonderfully unstuffy. Better still. Dogs are as welcome as people, though understandably your choice of room is limited with your canine friend in tow. Stapleford is surrounding by panoramic views over its own countryside and is far enough away from main roads to suffer no road noise at all. And options include riding, clay shooting and falconry. It really is hard to think of another country house hotel that really ticks all the boxes in the way this one does. I can't recommend it more highly.

Room Tip: If you have a dog with you ask for one of the rooms decorated with murals or the room called Lake Vi...
