“Fantastic hotel”

Stayed here mid December 2011, for companys' Christmas Event. Room was perfect. Bed was extremely comfortable and pillows are the best I've ever laid my head on. The extra bonus is that you can buy their pillows (and everything else if you want!) from the Marriott on- line shop. So those pillows are on my list. As it's situated just off the motorway it's a great location. The I thought was too expensive:- 1 gin and tonic plus an orange juice - £9 (pop 2 bottles and put a shot of gin in the glass) but the room service prices in comparison were better value - club sandwich (enough for 2 people) divine - £7.50 plus £3 for delivery. (as someone acutally had to put the sandwich together)
The breakfast was lovely and plenty of selection.
Staff were very friendly and helpful.
The standard was exceptional would highly recommend a stay here for a treat.

Room Tip: I stayed in an inside room, but there wasn't any noise, added bonus of being able to see when my...

Pros - Excellent service including a sumptuous breakfast buffet. King-sized bed was super comfy and noise insulation was excellent.

Cons- Need a car to get to and from the hotel. Also the restaurant is slightly limited if you are vegan or vegetarian.

Just what you expect from a Marriott!!

I stopped here at the weekend whilst visiting family and paid using my Marriott Reward Points. They followed my requests - for a non-smoking, high level room with extra towels - to the T. The staff were really friendly and helpful. Even though the hotel was busy hosting lots of Christmas parties, the sound didn't carry to our room which meant a great nights sleep in a world-famous Marriott bed - wonderful!!

The hotel is very conviently located. We travelled in from Bath and out to Birmingham, both of which were easy journeys due to the motorway connections. There are also lots of signs to follow to get to the hotel and lots of food and shopping options on the doorstep. It is only about 15 minutes away from the city centre by car too, so if you need to visit Leicester, this is the hotel I would reccommend!!

Room Tip: As with all hotels, go for the top floor, quieter, and hotels always referb from the top down!!

Ideally located with everything you expect from a Marriott at reasonable rates over the weekend, nice rooms, clean, good bedding (as always) and good service. Road noise from the Motorway is kept out effectively and AC which operates quietly while keeping the room cool. Staff is very friendly and helpful, making you feel welcome. We did not use the restaurant other than the breakfast buffet which was good. I would stay again, both for business and personal visits.

We stayed for a weekend using the hotel as a base. Great access to all routes. The hotel is located in a business park so no were to walk to in the evenings and no alternative restaurants in walking distance. The restaurant was busy with a business group so we were advised to eat early to avoid the rush. Set price for a nice buffet or menu if required. Food was excellent and reasonable for this level of hotel. Room was typical of a Marriott and very comfortable. Staff were all very helpful and we had a very nice weekend.

We stayed at the Marriott Leicester from 16.12.2011 for 2 nights.

As usual, the rooms were well maintained and the location ideal. It compared favourably to other 4 stars hotels.

Unfortunately it is unlikely that we would stay at this hotel again, nor would we recommend this hotel. On both nights there was excessive noise (was informed that parties on Friday's and Saturday's were a regular occurrence). Loud music was played till about 1am. We complained but very poor response (in terms of having the music volume reduced) was received. It was very difficult to fall asleep with such loud music. AN ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE!!!!!

Stayed here for business purposes. Nice hotel, however, I was not impressed with my dinner. On checking in, it turned out that the room had been booked for me via Expedia while we have a corporate rate and a dozen people from my company where staying there. OK not the hotel's mistake but they couldn't change it and when I asked whether they could do someting else, even a free drink or something, the answer was no. When I booked a taxi via reception a rather scruffy vehicle turned up and what I always hate: I couldn't pay by credit card so I needed to stop twice before I found a cash dispenser. The reception had asked me whether they cold book the taxi to the room - which I understood meant I would be charged for it upon checking out, but this turned out to be a misunderstanding. Please work with professional taxi companies and ask for credit card payment as a standard service! So all in all not bad but average.
