THE PEARL BEACH RESORT located on island name Gili ASAHAN just 15-20 min from Desa Batu Putih (Sekotong Barat), around 2 hrs from Mataram or Lombok International Airport. Really nice white beach, quite, clean bungalow around 30 Euro/night for bamboe hut with hammack, although you need to booked advance quite busy place, nice reasonable food. quite good place for snorkeling and diving with DIVE ZONE. for snorkeling better to bring your own (3.5 Euro 1 set of gear/ day). Great place for get out from big city......love it

Room Tip: the Bamboe room nice, clean, organise, bathroom and nice toilet, power depends on generator working...

We visited the Pearl Beach Resort for 3 nights in December 2013. There were 8 of us (two families) , so we occupied two beach front cottages plus two bamboo cottages. We absolutely loved our stay!! The resort is peaceful, remote and very friendly. The rooms were clean and a little warm at night, but they had fans to cool it off. No power during the day was never an issue -- we were out enjoying the beach! The food choices are limited, however, we enjoyed all the meals. Snorkel rentals were cheap, and there is great snorkeling right off the beach. We hired a boat to take us out for a half day which was lovely, but the boat operator wasn't very helpful in telling us where to go for the best experience. Still, the price was very inexpensive and we had a lot of fun!
If you aren't a high maintenance traveller that is looking for a relaxed, no frills, but enjoyable place to stay that is out of the ordinary, give this a try.... we loved it!!

Room Tip: Spend the money on the beach front bungalows. They are worth the extra few dollars!

This really is a very special place. Pearl Beach is the only resort on the island and you really can feel like you are away from it all.

I think the remoteness of the resort makes it harder to get access to some basic needs, however. For example: Food choice is limited and quality is marginal: Drinks are not ice-cold: Very limited snacks to access (had to resort to buying bananas which then cost me $1 each). Limited times of electricity during the day: No real fresh water for washing: Staff have very limited English.

But, the bungalows are quite well appointed and well constructed. There is soooo much room on the resort you can really luxuriate in the space: there's good snorkelling right off the beach, and the resort has a new manager, Barbara, who's zest for life is infectious!

The Pearl Beach Resort is in any way a beautiful, calm and friendly place...
We stayed in a bungalow near the sea, which was absolutely fantastic as you could see the sunrise from the bed ... We used without hesitation the water from the tap for cleaning teeth.
At our arrival we were kindly welcomed firstly at the airport by the taxi driver (had a private taxi transfer from Lombok airport to the mooring area of the resort booked via the resort - what we recommend) and secondly by the hotel manager at the resort (arrived 1.5 h later as we should at 10 p.m.).
Other guests told us, they came from Sengiggi by scooter and left them at the mooring area of the resort - Must have been a cool trip.
Meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) are absolutely delicious (and well priced) - Like cooked by an Indonesian granny ;-)
A walk around the island takes about 1.5 h - beautiful while sunset, found beautiful shells, passed a little fishing village and pearl farm and were friendly greeted by a band of children ...
In the resort is a diving zone (diving instructors coming from the mainland in the mornings) ... Made a diving course in 4 days; Open Water Diver (PADI - German owner) - perfect conditions! (Only two participants, lessons very flexible, reef directly in front of the resort) ... Many Guests already had a licence and booked trips. They told us there would be beautiful reefs nearby (turtles, reefsharks, a wreck and much more) ...
There were almost no mosquitos (we stopped taking Anti-Malaria-Pills).
Enough sun loungers in the shade (even if the resort would be fully booked out)...

There is no room service what wasn't a prob at all as you could get towels, toilet paper, drinks and free drinking water all the time...

What was very senceful: There was a water ewer fixed in front of the bungalows for cleaning the feet.

Room Tip: Bungalow Number two or four

We stayed in one of the more expensive cottages for 3 nights in November 2013. We didn't not enjoy our stay, and its certainly a beautiful location, and ideal for doing absolutely nothing for a few days and not having to think about a thing. The inclusive breakfast was nice and there was ample free water. But all in all our stay didn't quite meet our expectations, especially given that the price was more than we'd normally pay in this part of the world. The food, although exceedingly generous in its portions, wasn't very tasty and it was expensive. The snorkel hire was also expensive compared to elsewhere in Lombok & Bali. We were warned not to rely on card for payment, so cash became a bit of an issue - we brought a stash with us but on finding food & snorkel hire to be quite expensive ended up having to ration ourselves! The rooms are nicely set out, especially the bathroom and the balcony with daybed really is fantastic for lazy days. However, the rooms became very hot especially at night (the fans didn't do much), and the mosquito net wasn't great, so we weren't very comfortable in there. Finally, we had hoped to find a secluded romantic getaway, but we actually didn't find it very private at all, the cottages are close to each other and the eating area quite small, so at most times we felt quite overlooked by guests and staff. Peter and his staff are very friendly but unfortunately this place wasn't for us.

We visited in May 2013, just for the record... The wind was a bit much while we were there so the water wasn't as idyllic as I'm sure it is other times of year. It was pretty, but honestly, the food was pretty pricey and not very vegetarian friendly. For my money, I'd rather stay on a beautiful beach with the option of other things around, but if you want to be on a deserted island, you can do worse! Enjoy!

As if Lombok is not already the most stunning island you could wish for, the gift that keeps on giving offers Pearl Beach.

I don't know enough adjectives to express how lovely it is, but the ethos of the place is also wonderful. There are splendid touches going on here and the attention to detail is seriously impressive although as the previous reviewer said, they need some new and improved mosquito nets, which are apparently coming in January 2014.

We hired a scooter in Senggigi, rode down to the pick-up point which helpfully has a garden to park in and left it there for the duration of our trip because all in all it is cheaper, a lot more fun and flexible than a taxi transfer, likewise from Kuta the same applies and we were travelling light.

We've rarely enjoyed anywhere so much, it is special!
