This is a great place to visit, the gardens are beautiful, the house is very well maintained. The porcupine cafe is a must with a wide range of delicious cakes. A very large play are for the kids and a woodland walk. The gift shop is very well stocked. I treated myself to a bottle of raspberry gin. Also on the first Saturday of every month there is a very good farmers market there.

Penshurst Place is a wonderful place to visit on a sunny weekend with your family and friends - there's plenty to see here, tons of wonderful photo opportunities, it is quiet, friendly and caters to everyone's needs. Gardening enthusiasts have a chance to marvel at wonderful landscaping and a multitude of unusual plant, history buffs can go and visit the palace, nature lovers will enjoy a walk through a nearby forest. There's a couple of restaurants within the palace grounds, there's a wonderful picnic area, there's a well stocked gift shop with wonderful service!!!! All is all Penshurst Place is a highly recommended attraction for anyone looking for a mellow day away from the hustle and bustle of London.

Visited on a hot Sunday afternoon with family. Friendly guides in all the rooms which are very interesting. Gardens really pretty with pretty colour themed borders, formal gardens, climbing and rambling roses, ponds and a fountain. Plenty to explore and it has two cafes (which we didn't use as we prefer the Fir Tree Cafe in Penshurst Village). There's a well stocked shop and plant centre and once a month there's a Farmers' Market in the grounds. Highly recommended visit.

Penshurst Place and Gardens is a must visit for anyone who enjoys historic venues. Young and old alike will delight in exploring the beautifully preserved buildings and the marvelous gardens. The great hall and rooms beyond offer surprise after surprise and as with all National Trust properties there are knowledgeable guides throughout to answer questions and add to the colourful history of the building. We visited in June and the gardens were a delight, we spent far more time exploring these than we did the house. Don't miss the small but delightful toy museum which will stir many memories in the older visitor and fascinate the younger ones. There is an extensive shop offering an array of goods and a rather good adjoining tea room / cafe at the entrance.
