Went there on a coach trip, access for coaches through a narrow gateway but driver had no problem. House doesn't open until midday neither does Toy museum, would have thought one could have opened earlier! Gardens are lovely and well maintained could perhaps have done with some labelling of the plants. A bit disappointed as heard someone being charged full amount just for a pie in the cafeteria, apparently policy as could have veg etc with it as it was a meal deal. Service a bit on the slow side, felt food could be cold by time it was paid for! Enough seating inside and out and in the gardens for quite a few people. Disappointed didn't see more of the house, as only about six open to public. We thought there might have been more militaria connected with the current occupiers connection with the Grenadier Guards.

I was in the area so thought I'd visit. The actual place itself is beautiful. The gardens and lush, peaceful and a haven of beauty. Unfortunely, however this is all let down by poor, sub standard, expensive food. I eat in the garden restaurant and a jacket potato was a mere £9!! Considering this is also a garden, the salad quality were in line with a typical pizza hut/Wetherspoons. Such a shame. I would visit again but not eat there.

Many thanks for taking the time to review your visit with us, whilst we're of course really pleased to read you enjoyed the house and gardens and the relaxing atmosphere they afford visitors, we're disappointed to read you felt the Restaurant was not of the quality we have come to expect from our partner caterers. Please be assured your comments will be discussed at our next meeting, and next steps formulated.

I do hope this won't effect your decision to visit us again soon.
With thanks.

Visited on a cloudy and breezy morning so perhaps didn’t see the gardens at their best. Lots of parking and we received a friendly welcome from the lady at the ticket desk. We were just too late for the peony borders which was a shame as they must look spectacular when they are in flower. Just a bit too early for the roses at their best as well but there are lots of different garden rooms and lots to see. As the house doesn’t open until 12, we didn’t get the chance to see inside - maybe another time. Good information about the property and gardens including laminated cards of what plants are in tybirders which is useful. Were able to use the Gardeners’ World magazine 2for1 card here though so excellent value.

Penshurst Place is a fabulous place to meander between the house, the Toy museum, and the extensive grounds, it is absolutely glorious. Penshurst is one of the cheaper in price attractions to visit, and parking is free! With Plenty of space to park. The staff are welcoming, and hand out lots of information. The coffee shops and eateries are great. The house is spectacular, plenty of information in each room as you wonder through, note photos can not be taken inside the house. Staff are on hand in every room should you have any questions, and they are all very knowledgeable. The Toy museum is worth a visit, taking some of us back into our childhood days, remembering some of the toys on display, that we also had. Again lots of information of the items on display. The Grounds are spectacular, the smell of flora in the air, the burst of colours are amazing on the eye, you could spend hours looking at all the individual hedged gardens, all different and well executed. A Fabulous walk on a beautiful sunny day. We highly recommend the visit, you won't be disappointed.

Stunning history, gardens, architecture and location. Possibly one of the best in the country. To be savoured especially on a glorious summer's day.
