“Good food, on main road”
Reviewed 28 May 2014 via mobile

Stayed here when working locally, the hotel is overlooking the motorway and you can hear the traffic so if you're a light sleeper bring ear plugs.

The restaurant is good, there is a good selection on the main menu with additional daily specials complimenting nicely. The food pricing is slightly high for the area but the staff were nice and the hotel rates are okay.

I would stay here again if working in the area.

Pulled off motorway in search of food - Fenwick did not look appealing from outside but very well furnished inside. Staff friendly. Service quick and efficient. Excellent meal and prices surprisingly low. Worth a visit

Outstanding! Every box ticked.
Rooms excellent ✓
Staff efficient and friendly ✓
food superb✓
prices reasonable ✓
This is one of those places I can't wait to go back to. The staff were lovely and efficient right throughout my stay. The rooms were comfy and spacious although a little noisy from the adjacent M74.
Food was delicious and the menu offered so many tempting dishes it was hard to know what to choose.
Absolutely no complaints about the price either. I had a two course meal with two large glasses of wine, bed and breakfast. £75.

We had our wedding ceremony and meal here on April 18th. Our party was small but in no way did this affect the professional service by all the staff. Caroline Crawford was our
Wedding Co-ordinator. She was extremely attentive and provided us with the perfect day. Many compliments to the chef too. Every plate was empty. They gave us the Bridal Suite which was outstanding. All in all we couldn't have asked for anything more. Wonderful.......

We booked this at the last minute and what an excellent find it was. We arrived late in the evening and the staff were very concerned that we might miss the last dinner service but we opted for a snack meal in the bar anyway. Lovely sandwiches with plenty of accompaniments, they hit the spot for a light meal later in the evening. The bar area itself was great for an evening drink, and the cocktail menu was extensive and very reasonably priced. The best cocktails I have tasted in a long time
Our room was clean and airy and exceeded our expectations. Really comfortable bed, warm, with a spotlessly clean ensuite bathroom. Despite the fact the hotel is located next to the main road, and we live in the countryside, there was no noticeable traffic noise.
Breakfast in the morning was a hot and cold buffet with toast and drinks made fresh to order. No skimping with the portions either, and plenty of guests, including ourselves, going back for seconds!
Considering the fact that there is a popular chain hotel 5 minutes away, but which was more expensive just for a room, we were more than happy with the fact we chose the Fenwick Hotel instead. The staff could not have been more helpful and were extremely polite, they get a five star rating for their customer service alone.
Can't recommend this place highly enough, and when we're back in the area, we will definitely stay at the Fenwick.

Booked a Bank Holiday stay to take part in a friend's 60th birthday celebrations. We needed somewhere dog friendly and the hotel stated it was. What an understatement. When we arrived with our elderly Dalmatian we were mobbed by members of staff all wanting to stroke her. Our room was of an exceptionally high standard with a huge comfortable bed. Staff could have not been more friendly and helpful and the breakfasts were to die for. Nothing was too much trouble. Our celebration was supposed to take place in the hotel but due to problems due to illness of a member of my friend's family the party had to be transferred tyo his house. Amazingly, the hotel delivered the food we should have been eating there to his house. We had one of the best curries I have ever tasted. What a perfect weekend. Needless to say, we will be back there as soon as we can.
