my youngest only wanted to see a kiwi (alive). we stopped here and were wonderfully surprised by the simplicity and quaintness of the place. the staff was very helpful and the grounds were lovely. not commercial or over down, but very relaxing. we planned to hit the kiwi and eel quarters then move on, but ended up staying much longer and had the place almost to ourselves. it was great. we explored all the trails, critters, plants and birds. had a wonderful time. were surprised at how quiet the place was. visit it. it's worth it.
