“Helpful Enthusiastic Wine Guide”
Reviewed 27 July 2014

Of all the wineries we visited during our time in Niagara-on-the-lake, this was one of the best, and it was the gentleman behind the counter who made the experience so good. He knew his wine and was willing to share his experience, his stories and his advice. It was a Sunday, and the Tasting room was not as busy as usual, so he was able to give us nice personal service. As a result the winery sold us more wine. There is a direct correlation between the service you enjoy and what you spend. All the wineries should learn this.

“A wonderful stop along the Niagara winery trail”
Reviewed 25 July 2014

Hospitable and knowledgeable hosts introduce an interesting selection of wines. The Old Foch red and the Rose are particularly tasty. Cheers!

“Nice stop!”
Reviewed 22 July 2014

We stopped in at this spot on a whim. I had recognized the winery name from a few LCBO labels and we thought "why not". We sampled a few wines (and bought the ones we sampled!) Worth stopping in for a visit and a tasting!

“Excellent Wines at Malivoire”
Reviewed 1 July 2014

We have been enjoying wines from the Beamsville Bench for years but oddly enough had never dropped by Malivoire prior to this past weekend and did so on the advice of our B&B host. All I can say is that it is a real find!!
The person at the tasting counter was knowledgeable both on the wines and the history of Malivoire and wines in general. He was obviously someone involved in the business and not a student or retiree filling in weekends as at some of the other wineries. He offered us a great wine tasting experience!

The Winery is a bit different from other vineyard experiences. Most have their wine tasting rooms in a house or building on premises however, Malvoire tasting room is inside the wine making facility. This makes it very cool on a hot day - which was quite welcome. It also has a cache and ambiance often missing in the average tasting rooms.
Of course, the reason to visit a vineyard is to taste the wines and Malivoire does not disappoint. Their Ladybug rose has been a hit for the past year or so in the LCBO but they have SO much more to offer that is only available at their winery.
We are not big Chardonnay fans so did not taste these however they did have a very nice pinot gris. What was most surprising however, was the quality of reds produced by Malivoire. I find that Ontario reds tend to be acceptable but not outstanding - the prices however tend to be high and not a great value. Malivoire was the exception to this rule.

The presented two outstanding Reds for $25/bottle - the 2011 Old Vines Foch and 2012 Cabernet Franc both of which were full bodied wines with complexity and a velvety feel. Needless to say we walked away with several bottles from Malivoire and are considering joining their wine club. I am looking forward to enjoying more visits and more wines from this excellent Ontario winery.

“Sooooo Gooood”
Reviewed 12 June 2014

We recently visited the winery for the first time in May. We were pleasantly surprised by the delicious wines we tasted bt were even more impressed by the friendliness of the staff.
Excuse me if I get the names wrong but I have to say that Hailey, Tristan, Jay, Vladimir were so personable. They knew their stuff and made us feel very comfortable as first time guests.

We urchased a case and have been enjoying it at home.

Until next time...
