Since Ravn Airlines canceled all their flights on the day we had to fly to Kodiak we had to cancel our first night at this B&B. The owner showed no understanding at all and refused to give us any type of refund, even though we wanted to stay for three nights when we booked. We wanted to stay two nights and then one more when we came back from a trekking, but the minimum stay were 2 nights. Once we were there, the owner let us know that we could stay that extra third night since they had no reservations, but in the meantime we had already booked another place a few houses further down the same street, which turned out to be MUCH more comfortable and beautifully decorated. For the same price!
The cabinets ans utensils in this B&B looked worn and it felt as if they had gathered all kinds of things they got from friends and relatives.
When we booked we asked if there was a possiblity to leave our suitcases behind until we came back, but that was impossible.
We have been traveling for four weeks now in Alaska and the way we were treated here was completely the opposite of all our other experiences so far. We never got to meet the owner, so this is the only way we can express how we felt. The owner let us know that they only give a (partial?) refund until 4 weeks before the day of arrival, but cancellation of flights is not something we as 'customers' can be blamed for and we would for sure have appreciated some kind of 'concession'. We had to book an extra night in Anchorage so had to deal with extra expenses. After all the trouble we had with Ravn, we would for sure have appreciated another treatment.
I have to admit I was nervous renting from this site as it was my first time, however, the owners of Kodiak Cub B&B made me feel comfortable from the start. The owners were responsive and truthful throughout my process. The one bedroom suite is perfect for a couple, small family, or a business traveler such as myself. Grocery store located within walking distance with all other amenities within a 5 minute drive or long walk if you so choose. I really enjoyed my stay here.
